08/8/2019 21:36 | Thanks Shavian for your SIPP/Isa post, that's what I will do. graphenejen, thanks I am also with HL so I now know they will do it. Great help. | ![]() 20pc
08/8/2019 21:13 | graphenejen, yr query , last para. I would say ' yes' that's correct, but ck with provider. As long as SIPP has not been ' activated' ie, drawn upon, yr first 25% is tax free. Once that's activated, then all then rest is taxed. | ![]() scottishfield

08/8/2019 20:18 | Shavian: Many thanks for your input; it certainly gave me food for thought. I have spoken to my provider, HL, and they will transfer ‘in specie’ from my SIPP to a FAD pot and then move the tax-free element ‘in specie’ to my GIA account. They will not, however, transfer onward to an ISA so I would have to do that manually. Unfortunately I don’t have enough value in my SIPP at the moment to generate the amount I would need in my GIA. Am I right in thinking though that, if I did, any increase in value of my FAD pot would be taxable if I were to draw from it, whereas if the shares had remained in my SIPP 25% of the increased value would still be tax free? | ![]() graphenejen

08/8/2019 19:36 | Interesting to note today that there were a number of 10k sells mid afternoon. I suspect to coincide with the imbecile TW and his free podcast. IG is where I believe the selling came from. Time is very “short” for TW and his friends | ![]() phoenixs
08/8/2019 19:31 | I expect the floor has been agreed at around145p luckykids. The Sp will be well ahead of that by September once we've had the formal launch of the Aecom deal in the next week or so. And whatever the share price at the time, I expect BIGT will have to pay a premium to that... PIs will be able to buy in the market cheaper than that. As Neill said, why wait for the share price to rise... get them cheap now! | ![]() owenga

08/8/2019 17:34 | Some ramblings of mine. Graphene is starting to remind me of the earliest days of the internet. I was an early adopter (demon internet's 200-ish customer.. demon was the first dial-up provider, 1992). I could see how it was going to be a fantastic thing, but being a techy, I was looking at it from a computer/communicati However, although I knew there would be endless applications, my vision wasn't well enough developed be able to identify them. Just look at what the internet has done for news desemmination, travel booking, share transactions / discussion. instanteous money transfers using "faster Transfer", authorisation of credit card transactions etc. There wasn't even the inkling of "social media" when the internet started. The internet has totally transformed countless industries and generated new ones. I see Graphene as having the potential to do the same thing. | ![]() twatcher

08/8/2019 16:55 | I wonder how many other buys have been concealed today. My titchy little top up of only 2500 shares still hasn't shown up on either AIM or NEX, although the second even smaller trade I did just before the close does show up. Bizarre! | ![]() the skipper

08/8/2019 16:50 | sports clothing: different sports will have different requirements (think footy V cycling) requiring different attributes, so the make-up of the material and print process / quantity / chemical composition may well vary. IF this is the case then each sportswear co' will be producing different sportswear with different (?) attributes. This being the case then (as Mike Brenner has said) trademarks will reflect their offering i.e. such as 'coolgraph' or 'no sweat'. In short the underlying literature and advertising blurb may well incl' 'graphinks' or certainly 'graphene' but I wouldn't necessarily expect it as a VRS logo, because by doing this you are effectively saying it doesn't matter which brand I buy because they all contain 'gore tex'. Best wishes - Spike | ![]() spike_1
08/8/2019 16:49 | Don't expect issue price to be much more than £1.31 The lunch I remember he was talking about £25-30 million for 15% anything more and I would be well pleased. I think it will be a company maker by itself the BIGT deal. Might be controversial but I dont think he should mess around with PIs for this one. He has hinted it will be at a premium so buy them now. The PIs will only want to buy them if price goes higher than placing price for a guaranteed profit to flip them. I think most long term holders are packed to the gunnels already and don't need any more higher up. | ![]() luckykids

08/8/2019 15:06 | 20pc, Jen: your SIPP platform may let you do this (especially if your ISA is held on the same platform. These figures assume that you have not used any of your ISA allowance for the year) 1. The platform is told to make a FAD (flexi-access drawdown) of say £80k of VRS shares, but the transfers must be ‘in specie’ ie in the form of shares. It is specified that £60k by value of VRS shares gets moved from the Accrual pension pot to a new FAD pot, but that NO income is to be taken for the time being, hence no tax issues for now. 2. The platform is told to move the 25% tax-free element to one’s trading account/General Investment Account, also ‘in specie’, so there would now be £20k in VRS shares in the GIA. 3. They are next told to make a further ‘in specie’ transfer onward from the GIA to the (empty) ISA, so there is now £20k of VRS in the ISA and £60k in the FAD pot, with any untouched balance still in the Accrual SIPP pot. Caveats: Not all platforms will do this, mostly because of systems limitations, but some through stupidity or bloody-mindedness, not being used to dealing with intelligent punters. The figures above ignore any charges which may be involved. An inefficient platform could lose your shares en route or sell/buy unnecessarily which could mean one is out of the market at the critical moment - hence it is unwise to try this unless one is confident of the platform’s competence. The transfer of shares ‘in specie’ between GIA and ISA normally attracts Stamp Duty despite no sale or purchase having taken place, but of course in this case AIM shares are exempt. In my case this whole transaction did not cost a penny and was done overnight. No advice intended. | ![]() shavian
