Modern construction techniques include the use of non-traditional machinery such as robotics;
3D printers are simply a subset of robots. 3D printing has the potential to make the most profound impact on the industry as it will influence the ways assets are designed, procured, constructed (manufactured)
and demolished (dismantled). One of the key obstacles to
the widespread adoption of
3D printing has been the lack
of codes and standards which subsequently make local authority approvals more difficult.
However, mandates such as the Dubai 3D Printing strategy will encourage development of local codes and standards. AECOM has a number of agreements with leaders in the 3D printing space including Winsun of China and Scaled of the UK. Both companies are experienced in delivering 3D-printed products using a variety of materials, from the traditional cementitious to the more exotic carbon fiber reinforced polymers. AECOM employees have already been working with these partners,
an example being a design boot camp held on methods to utilize the technology in innovative ways.
3D printing concept
The use of 3D printing in construction has numerous potential benefits. Reducing
the need for activities such
as installing formwork, tying reinforcements and striking formwork decreases the number of operatives required on site and thereby reduces
the number of hazards to which they are exposed. 3D printing allows designers to truly free their creativity and not be constrained by the practicalities of construction elements.

The manufacturing industry has seen significant productivity gains through automation and the advancement in robotics. In the construction industry some of the same technology is being used to assist workers lay blocks and to demolish concrete to an extremely high degree of precision.
3D printing is another example that is leaking over from the manufacturing industry. 3D printing has been used for some time to create scaled-down prototypes to validate and demonstrate design intent. Now the technology is being taken to the next level, where we are starting to print at one- to-one scale using both traditional construction materials, such as concrete, and non-traditional ones such as graphene-infused polymers.

The kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund, is spearheading plans to develop Neom, a futuristic city being built from scratch, as part of the government’s plans to cut its reliance on oil and attract foreign investment. —

Lets' hope they use some advanced materials in this futuristic city..... seems likely.

As someone just pumped it.

It's simple, EVRH will get plenty of signatures because it's revenue for whoever they sign up with, for nothing.

The key is the kit which EVRH earns from which nobody I know wants. I've never seen anyone use it and know plenty of the gas that would. It's a dud sector. Just like 3D TVs the big names loved bringing those in and it was a complete flop.

It's NON reg RNS btw which means it's not material in the eye of the nomad.

There was an article some time back on the BBC saying demand for hybrids was coming from company car drivers who chose hybrids due to the lower tax bill. Some were returned to the market with the plug still in its wrapper.

CS great to see the pdf which is a weird mix of fabulously uplifting information that re-affirms the global expansion but then presents dispiriting images of a tea tray and ear phones with equal emphasis followed by impenetrable contradictory technical information on energy storage ?????

axotyl totally agree with you VRS need someone that understands the psychology of marketing to edit their promotional material so that the BIG unique selling propositions are not muddled up with matters that should be in the appendix.

In Psychological parlance Primacy describes the way the order of introduction to new information determines influence. Whether we like it or not we subliminally close down our receptiveness to anything being introduced at the first negative emotional response so you absolutely have to lead with the major benefits that more than compensate for any downside that follows otherwise the gates are shut and the benefits don't get a hearing. So far better to loose the small and mundane like the ear phones and the tea tray to the back of the story.

I have been sent a twitter post sent by Adrian Nixon receiving his running shoes which have Graphene in the sole. Produced by inov which has range of such shoes. The company links to Manchester university on its website. Mr. Nixon is Editor of the Nixene Journal specialising in Graphene and 2D materials and Advisory board member of the National Graphene Association in the USA. His twitter account links to the website of Nixor Limited which has a lot of information on graphene. Have I missed these names been discussed before on the board?
Even if graphene is not coming from VRS good that commercial products coming forward using graphene.
