Anley: try searching Aixtron in the search field on this board for more info.

Also in the 'legacy' board, now hijacked by the crazies.

I liked the podcast very much. Neill gave us a back story to the appn of susan bowen. She was around and gave assistance to neill and co in the early days of vrs - that clearly neill and chris value today, enough to invite her onto the bod when the company is preparing for the next stage of its development. And a very important stage at that, A global roll out. Such expansions carry great reward, but also risks are involved to execute the strategy, which shows how deeply neill and co have trust in her opinion. Neill and co are already successful in a relatively short period of time, and now have eyes on a bigger prize, to create a significant company - music to my lth ears. And that susan is part of the puzzle as they see it - helping to solve and join parts together as the company grows. i'm sure susan is a very good fit for the team - in fact they know so; she can hit the ground running and be relied upon, which is why it's a canny appointment. And by virtue of this poddy, all holders know too, so most worthwhile - indeed significant ! :) Aimo. Glalth. Best ellis

Maybe they just had a bit of space on their podcast that needed filling so approached NR?? After all he was on near the end rather than first up like he usually is!

The podcast slot may have been booked to coincide with a new announcement which may have had to be postponed at late notice (these things happen).

An alternative explanation is some poor sound on the previous podcast so perhaps NR was given a free go.

Most previous RNSs have left space for inferences of commercial value building up. Even on the appointment of PA. Sadly, not so today.

NR should be discouraged from pod casting when he has no extra illumination to bring to an RNS. Just to repeat assurances that the new appointment would be good for VRS is unintentionally to display that there is no new news that he can share, with us.

Hmmm. Not sure what that was supposed to achieve but didn't really seem to add much to the RNS. ( Exec Dir one)

Johnveals - I did not see Neill's retweet of the Geothermal referring specifically to motors. I don't think we are involved and it is just the Graphenea involvement which is probably the section for Developing advanced materials and coatings to prolong lifetime of drilling components.

If and when Versarien graphene adds to the density of batteries around the world this share will be minted. Dense batteries are what the world awaits. I have solar panels. I know I'm waiting. Cheap and easy storage will push electric/ automotive cars for good ( as the Chinese already know. Shanghai is a hugely busy, silent metropolis:)))

Very useful info. What Katie did next. In fact. Ho The scope of nanene is so wide that hardly anything is off topic.I read yesterday two snippets in far-from-academic sources.Nextgen electric cars . Nextgen Electric Aircraft. All about energy density in steady state batteries. Much increased. Much nearer present technology offerings. Both very hopeful for 2022 , cars , 3025 Aircraft. I hope the Spanish part of VRS is embedded in this, or Zap, or both.Sources , not erudite, Top Gear and an article about Tesla.

grabster,

WRT conditions in the South China Sea corroding the Chinese Military equipment: I worked on offshore construction in the South China Sea from 1981-1984. Conditions were no worse than anywhere else in the world. I suggest the problems may lie more in the quality of Chinese Steel (rather like Japenese steel in the 1960s and 70s) but of course the Chinese government wouldn't want that printed would they.

dgduncan - I think the big question is what kind of premium (share of the potential benefits from incorporating graphene) VRS can charge. If the HP graphene is seen as a commodity then it will be a lot less than if it is seen as a vital enabling ingredient.

Also whilst it is easy to calculate the cost of a downhole failure it is a lot harder to calculate a premium for reliability and it is probably the motor manufacturer that will take the lions share.

Neill retweeted a Graphenea tweet regarding the use of downhole motors in geothermal drilling. Are we involved in that? Why would Neill retweet if we weren't?

For me this particular order, whilst very welcome, is more of a marker for future prospects and expansion.

It is building the right business that will drive success and that is what Neill and the team seem to be doing.
