Shavian & Ellis, thanks for your thoughts about the James Baker interview. Judging by his tone he seems rather underwhelmed by even the most exciting developments. It would be very surprising if he does not realise that VRS is synonymous with commercial production of FLG and I agree he probably needs to be careful about showing favouritism, or any excitability.

I get the impression that Neill is comfortable with his private shareholders having such substantial holdings in this company, not infrequently dominating their portfolios, and being a responsible CEO & family man think he would be much less so if he was not confident about the company’s present and future prospects.

Cheers (although I’m extending dry January to try and lose some weight to make running easier).

Thanks tini5, a good use of BB is shared knowledge unknown to everyone else to alleviate shareholder or potential investor concerns. IMO that can be a useful tool as part of a good due diligence process.

He wore a shirt for the AGM, the t-shirt was after the formal conclusion of the AGM.

Can’t believe this is even a point you wish to make lol.

Magic Beans a troll generally wouldn't go the extent of attending AGM's and research and state things that clearly have/did happen. Anyone with conviction should not be fearful of any comments contrary to their belief and think more fool him, but anyone at the AGM will know my observations we're real. Maybe I am being slightly superstitious, but a CEO wearing a skull and cross bones t.shirt is a bad omen for me! Silly little thing, but give shareholders the right impression.I have been monitoring the share price with a view of re-entry which I had in my mind to be 115p but then I asked myself what's changed to make me re-enter?? I will openly say here now that if that big order comes I will be back in like a tramp on a sandwich. A troll in my experience are completely negative 100% of the time. The reality is sometimes you have to step back and ask if anything has changed and not come to fruition on the back of promises. ISO was another reason I forgot to put, it's going to be ISO accredited, then oh it's not that important!ellissj you may indeed be right that I have made another mistake with VRS, but I have taken that risk that I want to something really materialise.

Hawkwind, re point 7:

Matt sought out Peter as China was too big an opportunity for just Matt alone - the meeting between Neill and Matt was by chance and led to his secondment.

I’m confused. If you have held vrs shares for a while, why are you frustrated? Isn’t a tenfold increase in the share price enough for you? If you have only held the shares for a short while, why are you frustrated? It’s early days for your investment. I can only conclude that the real message is that some bought high and are annoyed by the recent retrace. Well, I’m in modest profit and I would like to be in serious profit. But every time I double check the progress to see how things might have gone better, the more I understand that we are where we are for good reasons. I respect the management team and believe that serious profits will be made this year and in following years.

Hawkwind - In Search of Space a top album. My favourite track is We Took The Wrong Step Years Ago. Which in a funny way applies to VRS. Who here doesn't wish they'd had the sense to realise that at 180p the share price was way overheated and sold the lot? Who doesn't wish Ricketts hadn't lost direction chasing the fantasy billions in China and actually focussed on the nuts'n'bolts of getting a collab over the line?Still, I'm sure he's racked up enough air miles at s'holder expense to get a few free flights for his family, and it must have been balm to his ego to be wined and dined around the world. As long as he enjoys every day at work, that's surely the most important thing...?

Spot on MM6 and totally agree. I would say the hardest thing in the markets is learnt patience. I have made many mistakes jumping ship believing the grass is greener elsewhere only to see the share I sold out of explode soon after. Absolutely gutting feeling, that’s why I now believe sound research, foresight and buy and hold is the best strategy. I don’t mean necessarily hold for ever, but until signs appear of saturation in a sector, that’s why I prefer growth shares in new technologies. FTSE companies have proved to be just as risky, as their markets are usually on the wain or dieing as the old makes way for the new, Debenhams, Carillion, BT examples of big names, but didn’t prove to be any safer investments. AIMHO."

Hawkwind, I think your points 6 and 7 are very valid indeed. Your other points are less clear cut.Wish I'd gone to that a Investor Day now, because if I'd detected that degree of perceived subterfuge I'd have sold shedloads instantly, at a much higher price than it is now. It's funny how people see the same interactions, but draw different conclusions from them.

I sold out shortly after AGM for following reasons, I know this may not go down well:1 My Intuition and gut feeling that it was BS and being mislead.2. A placing for funds for more than were needed, ok placing was over subscribed but there is no need to dilute anymore than necessary. Clearly Tesla's need paying for. 3. NR continually making reference to the government secondment gents being in China. 4. Flying here there and everywhere and, having fantastic days every day and no meaningful orders really off the back of it.5. Collaboration after collaboration and now share price goes negative on that type of news.6. NR continually ushing DK to keep quiet when he thought he was about to release sensitive information, it was deliberate tactic IMO to give the impression there was exciting things happening behind the scenes than there actually was. It was like a Punch and Judy act.7. The realisation that VRS approached the government for the two secondments and not the other way round, that's a big difference in that the government didn't approach VRS with the proposal and VRS pay their Salary as I understand. 8. Market Cap against Revenue/Profits are way out and not sure future revenues/profits will ever justify the valuation future orders.9. I understand SG thought at the outset until NR talked him round it was BS, I fear initial gut instincts are normally right 10. IP protection measures in China to prevent theft of IP trade secrets I accept I could be way off with my observations/thoughts and could miss out significantly but I believe at some point in any company after talking the talk, the BOD have to walk the walk and deliver therefore, I feel I need to see a game changing order before considering buying again to alleviate my concerns. For current shareholders I hope I am wrong and barking up the wrong tree, as it is terrible feeling when share prices go down, I have felt that emotion. It's only money though when our in perspective DYOR and IMHO

Fest, of course i challenge my investment decisions, but not publically ! If you've chosen to arrow upon narrow parameters that's your concern - until the metrics arrive, this is a blue sky risk/reward share. Wishing or campaigning for it to be different won't make it happen. Neill is acutely aware of shareholder expectation (per poddy in august - next order news) and team vrs has a strategy in play to meet that ie targetting 5 firms out of the collabs likely keen to progress orders quickly - there is a plan. Not a wing and a prayer. As clearly we have order potential. Aecom update was very encourageing. As was china. And aircraft part. I don't get your independent endorsing of vrs demands ? As far as i am concerned, vrs are bona fide and astutely involved at the heart of the 2D graphene industry. Via their academic, govt and association links. And by the quality of their staff and academic advisors. Top, respected people? What more do you want? I look at blue sky opportunity and trends eg plastic waste. Might look like eco warrior pointless info to some. But of course vrs are involved with luxus and likely unilever re plastics (bottles mentioned) and packaging. Also with greenarrow tech. Eco packaging ? Thus news of a recycling plastic bottles return scheme being trialled by many supermarkets is relevant re vrs for its blue sky trend potential. That much is obvious and reasonable ? Sorry you can't appeciate it. My view, repeated here, is that the potential of vrs will always outgrow the general market, and provide a very good return for my sipp. Fwiw, i don't see any black swans here if thats what you are worried about, just churn caused by general market issues. Sure, this churn has accelerated this week, and buyers getting a discount compared to last week. But, mkt wobbles produced the Same last year, down to 60p, when you voiced similar worries. But don't take my word for it, as ever aimo. Dyor. Either that or you trade, no offence. Best ellis.
