20/1/2019 16:45 | Thx roger. Indeed, hopefully for not much longer ! Vrs sitting pretty imo. Best ellis | ![]() ellissj
20/1/2019 16:41 | Pandeck, did he say how he thought they compared to other ear phones of a similar price? The fact that he thought they should only cot £40 suggests he wasn't terribly impressed? Could you ask him to compare them to a set of a similar price as it would be interesting to know whether he thought they were better bearing in mind he is in the music industry so presumably has a better ear than most of us. | ![]() woodpeckers
20/1/2019 16:02 | Not sure it's a fair comparison there Pandeck...£45 and £1,750...It would be interesting to see however, if he thought his pair were improved if Nanene were used in them... | ![]() woodpeckers

20/1/2019 12:53 | Some really good research Ellisj, I wonder when companies will stop stating that Good graphene (Nanene) can not be produced in commercial quantities. | ![]() rogerbridge
20/1/2019 11:34 | Have a look at what graphenea say. I've highlighted the 'graphene' section, and the difficulties faced when scaling up from lab to bulk. Best ellis 'Graphene & Graphite - How Do They Compare?' CREATING OR ISOLATING GRAPHENE: "...There are a number of ways in which scientists are able to produce graphene. The first successful way of producing monolayer and few layer graphene was by mechanical exfoliation (the adhesive tape technique). However, many research institutions around the world are currently racing to find the best, most efficient and effective way of producing high quality graphene on a large scale, which is also cost efficient and scalable. The most common way for scientists to create monolayer or few layer graphene is by a method known as chemical vapour deposition (CVD). This is a method that extracts carbon atoms from a carbon rich source by reduction. The main problem with this method is finding the most suitable substrate to grow graphene layers on, and also developing an effective way of removing the graphene layers from the substrate without damaging or modifying the atomic structure of the graphene...." | ![]() ellissj
20/1/2019 11:09 | Indeed. Which is why i differentiate 'the graphenes' on the market as either 2D or 3D (in nature and per proposed iso defn) in my research. Aimo. Best ellis | ![]() ellissj

20/1/2019 10:40 | surprised to find Nanene listed in this document on 'dialectric constants of liquids' - not clever enough to be able to understand quite what it's telling us though...😂 Page 29 | ![]() woodpeckers
20/1/2019 10:01 | Possibly taffy. University of basque country is a associate member of eu graphene flagship as well. It strikes me, if basques have a 'northern power house' type ambition, that must include advanced materials, inc graphene. How much they could base their plans upon local spanish 3D graphene companies is up for debate i would suggest. As an example, gnanomat happily joined with vrs once they had tested 2D +nanene in their supercaps etc and seen the lab results versus their own likely 3D graphene ? Same per china it seems ! One to keep an eye on for the moment :) aimo. Dyor. Best ellis | ![]() ellissj

20/1/2019 09:04 | Here's the spec sheet for one of the producers mentioned, avanzare - their graphene nano platelets. Gnps. Looks like 3D graphene to me. Aimo. 20/1/2019 09:00 | Dip/woody re airbus wing ; looks like a local spanish firm most likely supplied the 'graphene' to aernnova. And most likely a '3D graphene' - note the description 'graphene-based.' One word ! Of course, what is confirmed in that quote, is that airbus and aeronnova will be end users of 'graphene.' Thus vrs ultimately are very well placed. 'Game on !' Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis "...The development of graphene-reinforced structures for aerospace applications is of great significance. Graphene confers improved mechanical properties and conductivity to composites. Engineers and scientists from Airbus, Aernnova and Grupo Antolin have developed a prototype aircraft component using graphene-based composite materials that provides lightning-strike protection at reduced weight...." “Our ultimate goal is to establish an industrial graphene supply chain in Europe that can support the diverse applications of graphene,″ explains Dr Jouvray. Work package partners include an industrial equipment manufacturer (Aixtron Ltd), commercial producers of graphene (Avanzare Innovacion Tecnologica SL, Graphenea SA and Grupo Antolin-Ingenieria SA) and graphene end users such as Airbus Operations SL and Aernnova." | ![]() ellissj
