It might just be a coincidence, but I remember someone posting on this thread that they contacted the UK govt about DIT civil servant secondments, and the reply from the govt was that 3 people had been seconded, two to VRS and one to RR.

We already know that Versarien works with Rolls Royce Aero. We long ago deduced that this announcement in Sept 2017 related to them:

And we know Versarien is working with three other aerospace companies; one US based (GE Aviation we believe), Israel Aerospace Industries, and one Chinese aerospace company. And also working with a company involved in the lightweighting of components in aircraft interiors.

Quite a good level of involvement across that sector.

Considering the amount of stock that has found new homes, the share price has held up very well. There is a demand for VRS shares.

What will happen after the AECOM news and ISO confirmation is anyone’s guess.

I think the geic industrial partners are probably under nda's. Baker says 100+ firms engaged. Nowt publicity ! Safe to say RR are likely on the advisory panel tho given their involvement at UoM ? Imo. Best ellis

And from this govt pdf of 2016, (see their logo on page 16) RR were partnered with National graphene institute. Conclusion, fair to say RR at forefront of developing new materials including graphene. Aimo. Best ellis.

If the large orders start to arrive ( I suspect they will), then I would want Miton and Herald with as few left as possible.

It has been a long road which I’ve kept a close eye on. I feel sure those funds dropped stock into the market on news in December.

We have seen it so many times. MMs get short of stock and the funds unload.

So when it happened yesterday it was easy to predict before the late reports came.

Today is more typical as the late reports are shown as the mid price. So it seems highly likely a fund has dropped in at least 300k so far this week.

The mid price is down to previously supplied stock to the MMs having now been sold put through recorded at whatever the mid price is.

'Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials'

"The Sir Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials will be a world-leading centre for advanced materials research and commercialisation.

The institute will allow the UK to grow its world-leading research and innovation base in the advanced materials, science and technology, that underpins all industrial sectors.

Materials research

The Centre will encompass nine key areas of materials research, including graphene. The proposed research areas are grouped into four themes - energy, engineering, functional and soft materials; critical areas to underpin the Government's industrial strategy.

Northern powerhouse

The new Institute will have its research centre in Manchester. The Manchester centre will be supported by satellite centres or 'spokes' at the founding partners, comprising the universities of Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Cambridge, Oxford and Imperial College London.

The total funding from Government is £235m.

Aims of the Sir Henry Royce Institute of Materials Research and Innovation

Accelerate safely and with confidence the use of advanced materials in existing and emerging industrial sectors within the UK.
Underpin and provide growth to the entire UK manufacturing base and reduce the time to market from invention to application for new materials, with significant knock-on impact for the national economy.
Invent and innovate new materials in various sectors covering fabricating, testing, analysing and demonstration, under different operating environments, and provide the 'missing link' in the development of materials within the UK.
Cover a number of sectors - from soft to hard, to functional materials - allowing translation of ideas across sectors.
Provide an international beacon for UK expertise, and deliver national leadership and critical mass to allow identification of expertise within the UK.
Attract inward national and international investment from industry, academia and government.
Provide the required skills and training, allowing industrialists to work alongside academics to produce the expertise of the future from apprentices to doctorates.

'Advanced Materials Beacon'

"Research and innovation into advanced materials is a key commitment at The University of Manchester, focusing on solving some of the world's most critical problems.

Manchester is leading the world in developing new and existing materials for extreme environments.

We also lead the world in the characterisation of materials - measuring and exploring materials to help us fully understand their properties - such as graphene."

How are we tackling them?

"...An aero engine, developed by Rolls-Royce with the University, is 25% more fuel efficient than its closest competitor."

MD ear buds arrived today. Well worth the wait and lived up to the feedback from other users. Such good value for sound quality. The addition of Nanene is clear to see. Below is my website review: These Nanene enhanced ear buds deliver the best sound I've heard from a portable audio device. Last week I tried some Bose headphones at £330 which weren't as good. Also, my daughter's wireless Apple buds were vastly overshadowed. The sound 'spill-out' is low, even on high volume. I have a burst ear drum and suffer from poor quality ear buds; no problem here. Great packaging, nice magnetic anti-tangle feature and personal touch with note from Director and sweets. A must buy." Looking forward to seeing the launch of many more Nanene enhanced products which disrupt multiple industries.

The very fact of working with someone as big as RR would affect the price. After all, they've released plenty of other collab RNSs where there are no orders yet...

They can't be working with RR - if they were it would most definitely be price-sensitive and they'd *have* to RNS it...
