On that note: funny, isn't it, how the owners of the main Brexit papers are tax avoiders who aren't even UK nationals for tax purposes? Murdoch (a native Australian) is now an American citizen; Rothermere, owner of the Mail, is a non-dom living in France, and the weirdo Barclay twins live off Sark in their remote tax haven.

And of course that Russian-owned traitor Arron Banks isn't even a full UK citizen - he's also a citizen of Belize. Can anyone explain to me how someone who isn't a full citizen of the UK can found and fund a party to influence UK politics? Even assuming we knew where his money comes from, and nobody does. Maybe the NCA will find that out during their investigation of him...

You say that to most Leave voters and they have absolutely no idea of the agendas of those dripping anti-EU poison into their minds every day.

It's almost like - oh I don't know - like the newspaper owners want us to leave the EU to get out of this new anti-tax-avoidance legislation the EU is introducing - European Union (EU) Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD)...

Offsite 3D printing of structures includes small bridges; in Shanghai, Amsterdam, and Madrid:

The kind of thing that I would expect AECOM to be able to offer routinely before long. (Footbridges over railways perhaps). In housebuilding, I imagine certain components such as stair flights and roof structures being printed.

EDIT: changed the Shanghai link (video one was flipping to other videos)

pshevlin - and of course the weirdo Barclay twins (© Private Eye) are tax avoiding scumbags who hide out on their private island like particularly dysfunctional Bond villains. The Guardian (which I read) isn't perfect either though - it too is owned by a complex system of foreign holding companies to minimise/avoid tax liabilities, and despite its railings against zero-hours contracts it uses them for some of its journalistic staff.

Maybe the Telegraph shouldn't give tips on that basis Borg as it employs the Man/Baby Boris Johnson and it only exists because its extreme right wing owners support it with cash. The Guardian gets its money from ordinary people.

just out of curiosity, I typed into Google 'what's the largest increase in a company's shares in one year?' and found this, from 2014.

In the previous year Rare Earth Minerals had gone up by 3,556%, or 35-fold.

Not saying it will happen here, of course - far too many unknowns to make accurate predictions - but such things *do* happen...

smythe - now if it was announced that they're working with gnanomat on the batteries and VRS on composites/nanene for the bodies, interiors and tyres, that really *would* put a rocket under the share price ..

Looks like we could see some late reported larger buys again as someone continues to accumulate stock. I am not complaining.

"Guardian a nearly bankrupt paper"

to be fair they're all nearly bankrupt - look at the Telegraph or the Mirror. And as for Owen Jones - worse than Littlejohn, Liddle or Hopkins? I really don't think so...

The article from earlier this year says it all about 3D printing... well not all just the companies who are prepared to say something about it without giving too much away, worth reading it all if you haven't .

It is generally accepted that the technology of 3D printing is in its infancy, but this is far from the truth. Large-scale objects can already be rendered in an array of materials and with impressive tensile strengths and lifespans.

Liebherr’s aerospace division has been developing the 3D printing of titanium

One company taking advantage of the technology is construction engineering firm Aecom. The firm is working with a transport authority on its underground lines.

Aecom’s project director Dan Smith commented, “They were keen to reduce the time and costs of installing a visual signalling system.

“We looked at replacing the traditional bolt and screws method and came up with the concept of an arch that didn’t bolt to any of the existing tunnels.

“The concept was a 3D printed structure – and this is where things get extremely exciting; we’re looking at printing large-scale structures that support the signalling equipment.

“The size is 5.5m in height and 4m in width. With our partners, Scaled, we can actually print anything up to 20m in length and 4m in width on their machine, which I believe is Europe’s largest 3D printer.”

The Scaled printer has the capability to print in concrete and graphene-enhanced concrete, but is currently being used to test different types of composite, glass fibre and carbon fibre – in total, around 60 materials are being researched for various construction applications.

For the project, Aecom is working in glass fibre-reinforced plastic. Using this lightweight material, the signalling structure can be carried into position by just two people at ground level, with installation completed in one shift.

Compare this to the current signalling installation, which requires more manpower, four shifts and the assistance of a scissor lift, and it’s clear why the authority in question is so excited about the Aecom concept. In terms of reduced cost of production and installation, time savings and enhanced safety, it looks like a clear win for 3D printing.

At the other end of the construction spectrum, Caterpillar (Cat) has been developing its 3D printing operations since 1994. Initially, the firm established engineering cells, which primarily undertook pure research, before moving into prototyping and the printing of assembly-line tools.

Must admit that I don't get the argument that II's give stability in a share price, you only have to look at LLOY and GVC to see that the argument doesn't hold water.

Apple

This isn’t so much about trade war but a loss of market share as its Chinese competitors are continuing to grow.

When the flexible phone or super fast charging battery comes to the fore with graphene as an enabler, who could be better positioned than VRS with its Chinese expansion plans.

IF NR’s visit was to Apple and he sees a two year period before we start to see any results from the meeting, profit warnings like today will only serve to benefit any potential collaboration between the two companies as Apple look to maintain a competitive edge.

Regadless, Apple better approach R&D differently or be left behind.

Imo.

It tends to link in to one or two removed pages.

There is a paragraph in the Aecom Asia handbook.

It seems likely to me that Aecom’s tests with graphene 3D printing have been via Winsun.

There are a number of articles on it. Some of which ‘we’ are reluctant to post at this time.

Put that together with previously found articles.

Some companies are very forward thinking.

I don't see 3d printing houses working at the moment.
A gang of bricklayers can put a pair of semi detached up pretty quick, most of the work is in the footings, drains, roads and internal work carpentry, plumbing, electrics etc. Different methods and materials have been tried before but we still come back to bricks and mortar !

Still on 3D building of houses:
If anyone knows any bricklayers you may suggest they think about re-training!

Anyone who has a VRS robot will have felt the weight and strength and realise the potential here. The 3D printing can build the structure and nanene enhanced parts can finish the project off. All fixtures and fittings can be manufactured from nanene enhanced products. Window frames, security doors etc.

BTW Aecom have an alliance with winsun:

Apple and imagination technologies, done wonders for the share price but unlike imagination, VRS is not a one trick pony dictated too by any one in particular industry/company.

Sandbag - that scenario is a double edged sword as I’d hate a situation where a customer could try to influence the board. It may also encourage the customer’s competition to fund a VRS rival.

Personally I’d prefer the right type of II with a long term investment horizon such as a pension fund rather than a fund that has redemptions so forces the fund manager to sell shares whatever the circumstances.
