Loggie will have Iain Grey tagged as ‘an also’ ran for exactly the same reasons he is telling us all today’s RNS is a big yawn!!!

A pathetic little man who has the affliction of not being able to hear train whistles!

On this occasion I don’t mind if my toast is burnt.

Why should these large buys be well over the day's high? Happened yesterday as well.

Great unexpected announcement. Validates Versarien’s graphene, serves as a great case study for Neill to show off and opens the door to a huge sector.

We don’t know the price the graphene is sold at, but as has recently been discussed the associated cost savings of incorporating graphene can only help with the pricing.

There’s the basic cost saving of needing to use less of the construction material.

On top of this Neill mentioned that the graphene simplifies the manufacturing route so that the new version of the product costs less than the original.

On top of that the light-weighting of the part will have ongoing fuel savings.

There will be additional associated cost savings as well as intangible benefits to the airline (PR from using new technologies to reduce carbon footprint).

The use of graphene in these aircraft parts is a no brainer for everyone involved. What a wonderful position to be in for Versarien.

From a paper at IDTechEx quoted here

"As a new speciality material, graphene suffered from high and divergent prices and pricing strategies. This has changed. Graphene platelet prices have fallen and are beginning to converge, for now, around the $75-125 per Kg mark. Prices will continue to come down further as utilisation rates creep up, enabling more effective cost amortization."

Tweet from david kerr, with pics from steve hodge presentation. Showing a slide from dom parsons tea tray. 2 applications by look of it; a Nanene cfrp underbody section, and 3D printed graphene front lip. Interesting. Aimo. Best ellis.

Another thought on the RNS today, any modification to an aircraft has to be approved by the manufacturer otherwise it is seen as an illegal modification. This means that the product has not only been approved by the FAA but also the manufacturer (quite likely Boeing) I have found this page which backs up what I said and briefly sums up the steps that a customer goes through when buying a plane. There is a video at the top. htTp://www.aeronewstv.com/mobile/3189-the-different-options-when-an-airline-buys-a-plane.html The key bit is here: "Differentiating themselves from the competition, means they have to go through the various options presented in the aircraft manufacturers' showrooms, where life-size cabin layouts are on display, such as here at Airbus. Each product offered is certified beforehand and validated by the manufacturer."

"Great they already have FAA approvals as they don't happen overnight."

I don't think the RNS REACH states this. It reads to me that the part that may be changed has approval already. Either the change doesn't require approval or it's not been approved yet.

I see someone tried to clarify this in Twitter but got the usual nonsense answer from NR.

This order looks like a small sample order for a company who supplies parts to airline interiors.

Not material enough for an RNS.

I'm sure the excited puppies will calm down about it soon.

Great work guys re the funding for Steph now £1200 after 2 generous £250 donations to take it through the £1000 target.

The plan is to get her enough cash to cover lost work hours (at Budgens sadly) while she trains.

Donations mean you are into a raffle for the rugby tickets and dinner with NR and co at Gloucester rugby club (AGM venue).

Also 5 tickets up for grabs on the blind bid auction by emailing Nigel Laughton with your bid.

A small but significant step today. Could mean significant graphene revenues starting to flow as we enter 2020. Great they already have FAA approvals as they don't happen overnight.

In the meantime the odd 50k order here and there helps the corporate overheads.

Still at the start of the "s" curve!

Was reflecting a little about why I have so much interest in the bb

Well, there are a lot of people on here from various backgrounds who are prepared to share their knowledge when a point is raised and speak from their own experiences, years and years of experience on here from people who are not wet behind the ears.

Sort of thinking of opting out at some point, but , it's all so interesting , you never know what is going to come next and at the moment the possibilities seem endless for 2D materials .

Could be here for a few years yet, keep posting the good stuff everyone, we have plenty who look at the downside but that tends to fall off a cliff as the months pass.

We are at the very bottom of the S curve and depends what comes out before results how that will be playing out, but as each day passes I get more and more confident of the outcome.
