15/10/2018 09:44 | Hopefully, graphene getting a NEXT GEN look in here too !' Aimo. Best ellis. “Bringing together academics and businesses to develop new technologies will support areas of our daily lives, from the next-generation 5G mobile-phone network to improving scanning at airport security." GRAPHENE ARTICLE HERE: "Here, we present our vision for graphene-based integrated photonics. We review graphene-based transceivers and compare them with existing technologies. Strategies for improving power consumption, manufacturability and wafer-scale integration are addressed. We outline a roadmap of the technological requirements to meet the demands of the datacom and telecom markets. We show that graphene-based integrated photonics could enable ultrahigh spatial bandwidth density, low power consumption for board connectivity and connectivity between data centres, access networks and metropolitan, core, regional and long-haul optical communications." | ![]() ellissj

15/10/2018 09:33 | From solvay website, this quote from the venture capital page, gives a flavour of their product focus. Composites, lightweighting, batteries. Graphene certainly hits a next gen tech sweet spot here i imagine and logically be of interest ! Aimo. Best ellis. "Synergies and new markets" "Of course, it’s not just about cutting a check. Solvay Ventures wants to create business synergies with the startups it invests in, bringing its industrialization capabilities and market access to the table. “The combination between Solvay and startups is the guarantee there is a credible value chain to bring innovation to the market, for example in the field of composite materials, batteries, lightweighting, etc.”, summarizes Stéphane Roussel." | ![]() ellissj

15/10/2018 09:28 | Superg I know they have and a big company in Nottingham too are very much on my radar. I will apply to them if I dont get this specific job. Its not Haydale but you will see if you do 2% digging. Has implications though and Neil said yesterday both are working together ...? Looks very good for all and all 3 in derby, big one in Nottingham and Solvay ALL are pushing. Job for life for me if i get it before automation AI really kicks in. Volume sales ! | robinhood69
15/10/2018 09:27 | I work for Bombardier.... No Graphene here as far as I'm aware. | cazzer69

15/10/2018 09:21 | Looking up Solvay and the CPI was a nice find for me on another name I think that is hovering around VRS and the topic fitted the bill nicely. Not a topic yet discussed here so I'll leave it be re details. | ![]() superg1
15/10/2018 09:21 | Good point Shavian I would also add that some will prob be waiting to see what share price direction we are heading this week before committing, I would surmise that the higher we go the faster the share price rise with the FOMO, snowball effect if u like aimo | ![]() haz101
15/10/2018 09:18 | Robinhood The only that seems to fit is Solvay, they have actively been looking at Graphene. | ![]() superg1
15/10/2018 09:09 | Indeed Mike B, thx for alerting holders to the processes involved and Matt W's attitude, which to my mind chimes with his various tweets on the subject. It's obvious that graphene has the potential to disrupt many industries, including sensitive ones, and as Matt W tweeted, inc ones relative to national security. Clearly,'getting the rightdeal/s' involves more than if vrs were just selling ice cream ! And likely explains why in part civil servants seconded. Perspective is key to understanding and adopting realistic expectations. Waiting patiently here for news as it arrives. Hopefully before xmas ! ;) Aimo. Best ellis | ![]() ellissj
15/10/2018 09:08 | Are people expecting news from US? It seems it's getting the word out, would imagine news would come in a bit once people have had time digest what nanene can do, follow up calls with Neill etc | ![]() sonsonnyjim
15/10/2018 09:02 | I don’t think many of Ian Cowie’s readers are ‘8 o’clock warriors’. They are more likely to discuss any new speculation with friends colleagues and advisers before rushing to buy VRS. If so, we should see new buyers dribbling in over the next few days, especially if we get positive news from the US. | ![]() shavian
15/10/2018 08:53 | Currently looking to get a job there, so forgive me if I dont say just yet, but there are 3 composite companies in Derby and its only 25 miles to Loughborough. Hopefully once in I can help a bit more. Giving you the heads up and have done on another forum 2 weeks ago , lucky 😉 | robinhood69
15/10/2018 08:51 | CS I out tighter a lot of the things picked up by others and while stand alone they may mean little, tighter it can make sense. Then throw in the amount of research I personally do. So yes I think Aecom is potentially very big for VRS and potentially near term material progression. AECOM news will initially be working on a project involving the incorporation of Versarien's proprietary Nanene few layer graphene nano-platelets into large- scale polymer structures used in civil infrastructure projects, with a view to increasing their structural strength. Should this collaboration progress as we hope the potential for Versarien is considerable, So imo eyes peeled re that one. | ![]() superg1 |
