09/9/2018 16:46 | Professor Clare Grey, University of Cambridge, is among the confirmed speakers at the Graphene Week event in San Sebastian this week (starting Monday morning). Am I right in recalling that she has some past connection with Versarien? Or Zapgo? Name certainly rings a bell. | ![]() grabster

09/9/2018 15:55 | Not a film, but quite some time ago I remember a book, or short story by Piers Anthony about a one layer material called (I think) APFI. Strong, almost weightless, flexible etc. The guy made an all in one suit out of it, which was fantastic, until he was caught short, and couldn't get it off in time... | maxibrit2
09/9/2018 15:22 | Naneneman - I like it and it is available :) Wonder if Neill would turn a blind eye to the trademark aspect in return of the marketing value? | anotherdrink
09/9/2018 15:05 | OT part 2. Smallfry. Looking back over your posts I notice you state that you are only a small investor almost apologetically. We have all been there I am a very small holder compared to many on this board. For an immediate cure just think of your portfolio in a percentage return a month/year, that will put you on exactly the same terms as everyone else. On 01/4/16 I set myself a target over 10 years of 3% growth per month. Which sounded really difficult considering the circa 8% per year from the experts. I had researched SXX and HUR then discovered VRS, I knew they had graphene, but got into the copper foam for a while (won't mention the water cooled PC). My research in SXX and HUR allowed me to get out at good points as I expected flat growth. All my time and effort went into VRS in a possessed manner (its is my only holding), tried to tell loads of people about it but ended up feeling like the guys in The Big Short (great film especially considering my previous post). I appreciate that luck has played a part in my timing but I find the more I researched the luckier I got. I fully expect VRS to considerably outperform my targets and hope to be able change my life (buy a car that works) in 11 months. Good luck with you investment if you hold for your time scale you will do well. I (I think we all) expect it to get extremely exiting in the near future. There will be people with a few hundred shares being as excited as us in a few years time. No investment advice intended. | ![]() 20pc
09/9/2018 15:00 | I think someone said the films have only just aired to scratch the surface on the characters in Marvel comics. So Mr Grapheneman with his cunning plan is going to be waiting a long long time for a any interest. It will be 99p in the future. Now if he'd been smart enough to go for Naneneman they he really would have someone with superpowers. | ![]() superg1
09/9/2018 14:54 | paleface - I can probably do worse and find an article suggesting a buy price of 25p - if I look back far enough through archives. How silly and pointless would that be? | ![]() grabster

09/9/2018 14:45 | Paleface That was December and Motley are simply an outlet for a number that write articles. Last time I heard that name was watching a western film I think the chief called the cowboy that :-). Not trying to speak with a forked tongue are you? Watch out for the runaway train on it's way, get your ear on the rail and remember to lift your head it's a bloody big locomotive on the way. "Do you feel lucky" I for one haven't lost track in all this excitement. No inference intended luckykids and luckyorange. :-) | ![]() superg1

09/9/2018 13:51 | O/T: Someones beaten me to it. Grapheneman.com, ideal for NR or superg :) has already been registered - no doubt with the intention of creating a new character and selling the concept to Marvel Comics - this was in my simplistic thoughts. Surely only a matter of time when we see graphene reference made in film titles - then we'll know for sure we are in the public's psyche. | anotherdrink

09/9/2018 12:33 | smallfry, just loved your post. This is why we (VRS family) sometimes get accused of being 'over-protective'. It's because, as 'old hands', we know how hard it is to find companies like this, impossible if you ask me, so we don't want young investors being scared by 'players'. We're a great bunch, this is a great company and I think your investment is more than safe. | ![]() woodpeckers
09/9/2018 12:30 | Sorry off topic guys. Hi Smallfry great post and good luck with your investments. My story may give you a bit of inspiration and show that it is never too late. I started investing 35 years ago when I sold my motorbike and started working in IT in London. In those days there was no online trading I went up to AJ Bekhor offices walked in and spoke to a broker I had £500 the broker, about my age, said not many people do that and normally have a lot more capital. Anyway in those days didn't stand a chance with huge spreads and £38 each way costs, but it was fun and I kept looking but couldn't afford to invest I had company pension going with Norwich Union for 10 years which I forgot about as I moved on. Just before the markets collapsed I thought I can do better than NU with my pension so thought I would transfer to a SIPP alas NU wouldn't let me without impossing a 20% charge due to “Market turbulence” so had to wait about 3 years to August 2011. Leading up to the crash I also lost my IT contract so bought a franchise which collapsed overnight in October 2008. so found myself skint and living below the poverty line, ended up working as a groom doing weddings and funerals. So SIPP started well doubled to about 80k then got hammered lost over 90% ouch. Had £5500 left something was missing … Research, Research, Research. I appreciate that doesn't sound very inspirational, but had a lot of laughs along the way and It gets better, will post the rest later. | ![]() 20pc

09/9/2018 11:40 | Good luck with your investments smallfry. Although, I think we are all in safe hands with VRS. What is really exciting is that this story has only just started and a small investment will hopefully prove to be a much larger one in a few years time. I really appreciate all the comments and knowledge that is generously shared here and it has made me feel that my VRS shares are both a wise and secure investment. Having been in this game for quite a long time I can say that it is not often that a company like VRS comes along. Cutting edge technology that will be in such demand going forward, government backing to help global ambition and a superb management team. I hope to add further but have a couple of other investments that are about to do well and in which I have held shares for a number of years. Once these start to deliver I shall add to my position here. | ![]() rafboy
09/9/2018 11:31 | Thank you Dmorty I agree about it being more exciting than the bank. | smallfry1
09/9/2018 11:15 | Smallfry it's nice to see a small private investor like myself talking with such humility and honestly, the board for Vrs is a very active and lively place. Some other shares go for days and even weeks without a post.I do think most people on this board are very supportive and encouraging. Good look with your investment SF, it's more exciting than a savings account. | dmorty87
09/9/2018 10:48 | Graphene is starting to make it way into sci fi tv shows. In travelers they use it for communications devices and they have Graphene medical nanotechnology nanites. Also in the expanse the have Graphene screens | ![]() 1teepee |
