Unsurprisingly Neill's Twitter following appears to be at an all time high - followers now number 2,251. It will be interesting to see the bearing of future RNS' and the resulting geographical breakdown. I suspect Neill's at the foothills of going global.

Unilever Job Advert

Assistant CMI Manager, Global Brand Design

Background

The world around us has changed and if anything, the pace of change is accelerating. We are facing a lot of disruptors, from local players who are agile in responding to local consumer & market trends to start-ups who are utilising the latest breakthrough technology.

In the outside world, it’s the products & services and innovation culture that puts the human first which are winning the innovation game: human needs, dreams and creators’ creativity; shared & circular economies in hyper connected worlds, homes and cities; creative repositioning of entire industries making them obsolete; the use of digital design and advanced technology as differentiators & enablers of superior consumer experiences; innovations that genuinely improve and add meaning to Brands and people’s lives; and acute levels of externalised accelerators, innovation partnerships and collaborations. These famous innovations we all talk about and love are quite simple ideas. Yet make seismic shifts, powered by the people that make them & the people they serve.

Scope of the role

Global Brand Design team will be responsible for the mix development and testing, working closely with other CMI teams in the COEs (Centers of Excellence) as well as external agencies and crowd-sourcing entities. This role will lead two specific pillars:

1. New Product Development (NPD) and Core Innovations: The focus here will be on funnel innovations and renovations of the core and NPD. We will help the business generate & implement fast-growing & market/trend responsive innovations in short time. We will do that by delivering bigger, faster & agile innovations & implementing the new tools and approaches available within CMI and provided by the U-Innov8 COE team.

2. The Lean Innovations: It is all about Game Changers, speed and breakthrough innovations in this pillar. We will identify and introduce new to the world products and/or services, and new business models. This will include adjacencies, channels and brand. We will utilise macro trends, Inno metrics, monitoring & feedback to come up with disruptive innovation ideas and move them from ideation only to implementation (including prototyping, launch models, etc.).

Indeed and with accreditation and certified products in play the 2D industry will logically have greater market confidence. In theory, that with further global company collabs announced, could see a tipping point reached, where valuations of vrs could rocket; If all the pieces of the jigsaw fall into place. Cue a club spreadsheet valuation ! ;) Aimo. Best ellis

To finish off I suspect the ground will start to shake in the not too distant future.

The enthusiasm and excitement that oozes from the VRS team is there for a very good reason.

Matt was taken on for a very good reason. Peter has been taken on because that very good reason has accelerated and materially grown in terms of interest from China.

The coming months are imo going to be a very interesting time.

So that brings me onto higher share prices (thought spilling again).

At 10p and 1 mill of buys it was £100k in investor terms.

Now at £1.50 it becomes £1.5 million.

So if someone picked up 250k shares at 10p and the share price becomes £15, it makes me think (or did). How the hell do you sell £3.6 mill shares at these volumes.

Well if it's gone up that much it's down to major changes in the company and major investors arriving. But then that can all happen on visibility of the prospects.

So to explain that and untangle the 'how the hell' I'll move over to Blue Prism.

PRSM for those that don't know it. It's absolutely flying the investor market loves it, they can't get enough of it.

YE 2017 revenue £24.5 mill loss £9.5 mill Market cap currently £1.7 billion.

It's flying because it's product is catching on and spreading worldwide and the investors are chasing what they believe will be a substantial company.

The point I'm after there covers the 'how the hell' part.

Last week the value of VRS shares churned was around £3.75 mill.

On Blue Prism it was £140 mill.

That means the entire week for VRS was on average 68 mins of trading on PRSM.

It shows the difference once the market catches on. The catch on part for PRSM is uptake of their product. Our catch on moment re that imo should start to appear over the next 6 months.

So how the hell re £15 a share isn't an issue that will feature.

And to think PRSM won't have hit the really serious investors radar yet.

Spending too long hunting around the AIM gives a small picture of the money that is out there, once the ground starts to shake with serious investor interest.

Indeed super, the potential is staggering as is. And this could always be a forward looking share in theory, as discoveries and applications come into play at a rate that is always expoential when comapared to backward looking metrics. In other words, a shorters nightmare. An Investors dream. Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis

"Sales of electric vehicles reached a record high last month, accounting for one in every 12 new cars purchased in the UK."

"Last month 7,489 electric and alternative fuel vehicles were sold, up from the 3,968 sold in August of 2017"

Versarien could hardly have arrived at a better time - with just about every maker desperate to get their hands on the strongest and lightest materials for building their vehicles, and seeking every improvement available in battery technology. The company has good connections in both areas.

Thought spilling on the potential share price of VRS.

AIM companies that has come and gone on investors radar have had some good prospects. At the time mind blowingly fantastic for some, rather than some 'good prospects'.

There are many one trick ponies which could stretch to a few products or a single industry and the market took them to eye watering share prices.

2D materials were never in play, they weren't even thought of. Now they are here in the background, the real market is oblivious.

If you take the VRS story and the interest then the potential is like nothing ever seen before, it's too vast to begin to imagine.

What small company (or any company) has had a world superpower knocking at their door, and putting them in front of top Chinese government officials as VIPs, then that 1 province becomes 24 provinces/companies interested (I suspect that number has jumped).

The potential is absolutely barmy and thankfully a very capable team are behind the potential and will do all they can to take it forward.

A point that needs repeating I this is not just about graphene. The high quality graphene VRS can produce is part of the picture. The relationship with the graphene centres and catapult centres is of equal importance and is material interest to China and the big companies.

No one else I know of worldwide is anywhere near VRS on that relationship link AND now we have not one but 2 DIT staff seconded across. The US jumping in and inviting NR on the graphene council tells you all you need to know about what the US think. I did post many times that the US like him.

As NR says they are becoming the go to company worldwide. Quality, integrity and backed by the UK government. The UK government want the UK to be the world lead in graphene. 2D materials are an industrial revolution in play.

This really could be something very special and unlike anything ever seen before.

Chatting the other day, I did make me think as posted by some that what we see now will seem very ordinary in the not too distant future.

Here’s a little puzzler for the VRS weekend colour supplement, primarily for those attending the golf day:

Did anyone else notice the logos on the black polo shirt which Neill was wearing? If so did anybody recognise them? Knowing Neill, is this another of his subtle hints about future business? In the words of Private Eye, ‘I think we should be told...’

I wasn't able to get to the golf but the feedback from that day has been very enjoyable and illuminating. Thank you all. The fact that so many of you spoke to different people and to the same people, picking up snippets of information that each has absorbed or interpreted in subtly different ways yet all feeding into one picture - is like watching a detailed painting taking shape. Like an episode of 'Portrait Artist Of The Year' on Sky. Fascinating.

Spike, having just read your riveting account of the VRS golf day, I'm beginning to suspect your are secretly working on your novel. I imagine the plot might revolve around intrigue and politics during the graphene revolution.

Thanks a lot Spike and also for the previous SuperG and Shavian's accounts. For me it helps to build the picture of the team that Neill (with Nigel as right hand man) have been putting together and with that also better gauge how the timeline is unfolding. The Peter Jay and Twitter story made me chuckle as some of the BB did get taken in by that last week. I hope you gave Peter a few hints on what we're after for a first tweet, stepping off the plane at a mystery location perhaps to keep us sleuthing?
