Thanks, 66...one relevant para. regarding international standards (could take several years?):

NPL is also leading the standardisation of the structural properties of graphene within ISO/TC 229, developing fit-for-purpose measurement standards that will instil trust in this growing graphene industry through reliable comparison of the properties of the many different commercially-supplied graphene sources worldwide. However, as the development of international standards is rigorous and can take several years, NPL have published an NPL Good Practice Guide entitled 'Characterisation of the Structure of Graphene' that will be the basis of the future ISO standards in this area. This will therefore provide industry with an interim source of measurement protocols, in the initial absence of published international measurement standards in this area.

Apologies if previously posted. Any idea who's supplying the graphene.https://www.metiercycling.com/pages/technical-specifications-short-sleeve-race-layer

apologies, not sure if posting things like that is the done thing here, but I wondered if something VRS could get involved with?

Battery breakthrough could slash electric vehicle charge time, say researchers.
A team of Scottish scientists have developed a new energy storage technology that could see electric vehicles charge-up in just seconds.
The technology consists of a flow battery system that utilises a nano-molecule that can store electric power or hydrogen gas in a hybrid energy storage system, according to the scientists from the University of Glasgow.
Leroy Cronin, who led the research, said high capacity and flexible energy storage systems were needed to smooth out the peaks and troughs in supply to make future renewables effective.
"Our approach will provide a new route to do this electrochemically and could even have application in electric cars where batteries can still take hours to recharge and have limited capacity,” he said.
Taking the form of a nano-molecule-infused pumpable liquid, the technology could allow for the release of power on demand in a manner that would fuel cars and negate a long charging process.
In a process that would involve fresh liquid replacing old battery liquid, cars could be ‘charged’; in a similar amount of time to filling a vehicle with petrol.
However, the technology, which is tailpipe emission free, is far more expensive than current methods for recharging electric vehicles.
“The very high energy density of our material could increase the range of electric cars, and also increase the resilience of energy storage systems to keep the lights on at times of peak demand,” said Cronin.

Is The Somerset Arms the smallish pub along a mainly residential street as I was in there on the eve of the investor day hoping to eat but the lady said they don't do food. There must be some pretty heavy drinkers there to keep a pub going with no food. Nice boozer though.

There's a nice formica snooker room on the top floor Super. In fact if we put the table up against the wall, covered it for a finger buffet, Neill can have the room for the AGM.

Winterfloods.

Well I didn't expect them to move off 122p anytime soon and no apparent reason for it. I thought they had managed to reload from a door knock or similar.

Perhaps a late report to come to explain it.

Ellissj: Hi I think Neill said:

'out graphene council accreditation exercise and npl/uom accreditation and npl accreditation'
Maybe a few letters mixed up in your post - lol.

(My understanding npl = National Physics Lab and UoM = University of Manchester)

Have a good day, well should finish blue, fantastic news!

I just get the feeling that the team being built by Neill Ricketts to move the company forward with the expansion plans is somewhat akin to a football premier league team with the competition being in the championship, leagues 1 and 2.

They all start with a round ball but its the skillset in what they do with it that sets the premier league team apart

Note: apply the same logic to the oval shape ball game as I dont believe NR is a footy fan :)

"Oil will only be dead if we no longer need plastic (as far as I'm aware)..."

Plastic is made from oil..... Oil WILL run out one decade in the future.... in the meantime...

Graphene will reduce the amount of plastic required for a specific use... saving oil!

Graphene will create more efficient batteries reducing the amount of fuel used in cars, factories, ships, planes

Graphene will enable stronger materials, like carbon fibre, redcuing the amount needed for a specific use, like cars, planes, ships... and so reducing weight, saving fuel and Oil

Graphene helps with control of temperature reducing fuel used and hence Oil

Graphene will reduce wear and tear on the roads, reducing repairs and use of bitumen and hence oil

Graphene has the ability to extend the life of our oil reserves for decades.....

Spike1 - not all plastics are oil derived. Most are but not all, and the growth of vegetation based plastics (bioplastics) is on the up (abeit from a very small start). So it will become increasingly important not to indiscriminately demonise all plastics. The demons are we pesky humans who haven't managed the use, re-use and disposal responsibly.

Sky

Just a thought we may need to sort it.

At this rate the NR office HQ is going to need some oak panelling and ornate carvings to make the new arrivals feel at home.

Any kicking around in the skittle alley? Some jigglers for the convert mission and a jemmy for the oak panels.

Must take some milk and grab a cat on the way too.
