In the mists of time, my next-door neighbour had reg. PEN15 (founder of Mayfair mag. I think) but not sure that's in the spirit of things here.

sonny, we all start somewhere, my kids are in a similar position, but as I've said to them, mighty oaks from little acorns grow...

Personalised registrations can be a great investment axotyl,( not as good as VRS shares of course!)... I certainly wouldn't class them as 'chucking money away'. They can also be a great way to promote your business. I've followed many vans etc looking at the number plate and remembered the business name on the side as a result.

There's also good reasons not to buy Tesla.

It takes a lot of guts to go all in on one company and many would say it's foolhardy.

I bought heavily here after reading the thread, super's take etc, (Mike hadn't done his amazing write up at that point) as I felt I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

Then I got slightly cold feet thinking that it must be too good to be true, so used further cash to dabble with other shares.... Soon learnt my lesson, none of them were doing as well as VRS so sold them all (at a loss).... and now, unless the story changes (and there is no sign of that other than things just get better!) I just keep adding as and when I can.

Maybe just once in a lifetime you can be in the right place at the right time... you just have to believe it.

Having said that, I am lucky enough to be in the position where I can follow what's going on on a day to day basis and if I had any mixed feelings I would put in a sell order straight away. There is no such thing as a sure bet... but IMO this is as close as you'll get at the moment.

"The car registration number 1 VRS is presently on sale".

That just isn't NR's style; he's surely the opposite end of the spectrum to anyone who would chuck money away.

Is there one iota of reason why that's a good idea?

Big people don't need number plates. Such money can be better utilised by helping the needy.

The car registration number 1 VRS is presently on sale. I've sent Neill an e-mail suggesting that he asks Chris for cash to buy it for his new Tesla. If Chris won't cough up he should buy it himself. He deserves it.

I understand you - £13000 was all I had last October.
I dived in then following Superg1's nose & a bit of research myself.

Now is not too late. All it requires is patience & nerve.

I still have to pinch myself that £13,000 not so long ago would have purchased 100,000 shares in VRS. Now over 1/10th of a £million gets you the same amount of shares.
