The CFO was blown away by the opportunity- that's good enough for me :-)

Woody - absolutely right: but even so we still can't be absolutely sure it will happen until it happens. Not least VRS need to see how the Chinese value their IP...

Re China happening or not, there has never been the slightest doubt when Neill speaks about it. It is always a matter of 'when' not 'if'.

I know you have now filtered me Fest but I shouldn’t beat yourself up about IMM, life is stuffed full of what ifs. When you muck about with pharma and things of the same ilk as oil etc you can get badly burned, might have fallen to 10p. It’s only a short term trade you missed, not like a jump from sub 15p to over £1...

I once flew home from NYC and never knew in the seat in front was a well known film actress that I was rather partial to, only realised when we disembarked. I know the toilets are cramped on a BA 747 but there is a what if 😉😂

Wishing you all (inc Club and Fest) a great sunny weekend

For twitter fans, i think we can welcome NR post 1800 hours BST.

If NR doesn't tweet during before CoB, at least those keeping an eye think he is busy (even pretend busy).

That way win-win for both groups.

One reason is because NR (if i am not wrong) said twitter account is his personal.

Thank you everyone for your replies, as I can only pronounce Rose I'll get that. Although I am concerned richard that asking for a dark Rose is the drinking equivalent to the apprentices command to go a get some tartan paint!

It's a pity the JV was not in the USA. They know how to value I.P. We would be over a fi er to start.

All these sells getting so easily absorbed all day, suggests that we might see another late reported big BUY to balance them. That would be nice!

you don't have time to get a really good one, but both waitrose and majestic do better than good viognier for £13

In my view the only way the Chinese JV could fall through is VRS having to give away to many "secrets" and to many demands from the Chinese government, who remember control all aspects of commercialism in that country.

The Chinese want the "stuff" but why should VRS just give it away and besides look at all the paper work this deal is generating right down to who does what, when and where. All very useful if NR were to say No and then take a trip to Taiwan......think about the politics in that statement and why that country needs the "stuff"?

I still think we are month or two away from an official signing and that would be the time to spend some PR money..............lets wait.

skylite,

I think you need big wines to go with curry. Shiraz, Amerone, and the like.
We expect a Masterchef review tomorrow pls!
Good luck.

From the Investors Day, it was reported that china deal was the main focus. I doubt very much if this means they have endlessly shuffling bits of paper around a table since jan to close this deal. I'm sure a good win/win deal will arrive due course imo. Patiently waiting here. And of course, another way to derisk, is to become a catapault yourself. They come to us, apparels, chemicals. And now via lansdowne (sorry Q whatever it is!) Isn't this what good companies do ? Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis.

Beer is the norm with curry but rose would be the best bet for a wine match, NOT one of the pale ones from the SOF but a deeper darker rose, like the Otero Spanish rose from Majestic...
