Hi APAD
I take your point about posh butchers shops. However like there are posh cake and tea shops there is also greggs. Maybe crawshaw can be the greggs of butchers.

One thing i like about the business is the speed that it can change what cuts and selections it offers. t All stock acoss the whole company can be changed within a week as its all food. They are not half way through a huge tech or construction project that they cant get out of or change after spending millions. Their pricing can be changed immediately too to market changes.

Heres hoping anyway. But 17m market cap with cash in the bank it does seem worth a small small little bite.
So its only fair i include it in my selection i suppose as i now own some. Can i please remove HWDN and replace with CRAW. First and ladt change i promise. :)

Thanks folks.

My software takes Google prices off the web automatically - of course they aren't perfect but there is no work involved.

So, how about prices at close on the 30th and entries can be changed or logged anytime over the weekend? Given that we are choosing from our own holdings, or watchlists, as a measure of our judgement, rather than trying to win a competition with a selection of dogs, it allows some reflection over a gin and FEVR?

I would go with tlatsatt. Closing price (buy) on the last day before the market opens in the New Year. You can use the UT as that point.

I was waiting until closer to the start date to make my choice whenever that is :) What about closing entries around midnight on the 31st December?

What should be the start date/time for the 'competition' folks?

KOOV results out, cash incendiary machine - perils of investing in India.
Excellent researcher, Harebridge, is besotted.

Reminder to self: stay sceptical and run on finding flaws. Don't do another GDWN.

Baby holdings PTSG/IGG doing well and 1025 purchase of FEVR on 6 Dec, anticipating XMAS interest was well-timed.

Yoodle pundits on TV all waffling about pharma for the new year should get GSK perked up a bit.

Spx had a nice little jump first thing.
A purchase when I was sniffing would have made a good sale today.

Goldman Sucks has decided to play with Nano.
Wonder how that will play out in 2017.
It will at least add interest to mine and Lauders pick.

No about 30 minutes away but the chef/owner is ex-Simpsons in Edgbaston.
Excellent meal and quaint restaurant. I think Sunday lunch in the New Year is a given.

Hey PJ
You might be right there. I'm hoping they'll return the the meathods they have used in the past.
Yes trusting managerd to do the right thing is easier said than done.

Hmm hopefully head office will analyse the numbers and take control.

APAD - TW talking nasty about his "good friend" Jim Mellon no boubt? Nice to have such friends :-(

Not a subscriber but have heard what he thinks of FFWD before. Hope he chokes on his cornflakes in a few years when Jim and his true friends prove TW mistaken in his beliefs and assertions.

CRAW-Its basically a franchised model where every store is the same, selling the same produce at the same price.

However, in an apparent act of desperation imo, they have now allowed poorly paid and overworked store ''managers'' to sell at their own price point and to judge their customers. That to me is a clear change of strategy.

I hope it works for you, but if it doesn't???

I can't resist a pre-Christmas bargain.
Nibbled a few Clln @ £2.312896p. just missed £2.21ish.
Saw they had fallen by 1p whilst I was out and about.
Never mind, slightly on the right side at the close.
£2.37ish will do me again.

Thought I was finished for the holidays, but not so.
I do like a bit of Christmas fun.
