16/12/2016 22:45 | "The hardest hit company is the foundry, Goodwin Steel Castings." New patents - Wow! "lithium battery transport bags and fire resistant paints." Well that's all right then. LTIP/Salaries/Divis - I'm all right Jack. Clogs to clogs. apad | apad
16/12/2016 22:06 | dacian They admitted it would take two years for the oil and gas side to recover, in their opinion, when we attended the AGM. In a sector where there is overcapacity, it is inevitable that margins will be squeezed. Hedging worries me. Far too many companies seem to get it wrong. When they do they are just matter of fact about losses that are just swept under the carpet. A lot of effort has gone into developing new products and they seemed pretty pleased that their efforts were beginning to bear fruit. They need to to replace O&G revenue/profit. As long as they maintain the dividend, I can wait for the recovery. The old guard is getting old and the new guys are beginning to take more control. We must hope that they are up to the job. The family still has a big shareholding, so a collapse of the share price will hit them big in the pocket. red | redartbmud
16/12/2016 13:46 | GDWN profit warning. Should've sold the lot at 2230p! Courage of conviction, apad. GSK lumbering off the runway - powered by $ and early Feb Q4. Headed for £17 and some top-slicing (perhaps). apad | apad
15/12/2016 20:39 | I last bought BOO in May at 48p, mod. Now 16% of portfolio (2nd place). 10 Jan update will be a measure of XMAS party/Winter clothes season I suppose. The steady rise since the results is a very powerful signifier. The joint CEOs are on a roll. It's hard to see what could change the story, and there's still a lot of the High St. left to plunder. apad | apad
15/12/2016 18:38 | Haywards So do I but the decline in the share price is becoming a nightmare. The current yield must be north of 8%, so something has to give soon. I would like to seee# the ex-Harvard concert party well and truly singed by a re-rating. Especially their nether regions - front and back! red | redartbmud
15/12/2016 13:02 | Hi Red, CLLN share price continues to decline, and there have been several broker downgrades published since the recent trading statement.. I continue to hold. | haywards26
15/12/2016 12:18 | BOO sits proudly in my sipp with average entry gain of around 270%. Top sliced twice before the results and added 8 times. | modform
15/12/2016 08:12 | Online fashion retailer Boohoo (BOOH) is in a strong financial position, giving Shore Capital confidence in its bullish stance on the stock. Analyst George Mensah reiterated his ‘buy’ recommendation after the company announced upgrades to its full-year 2017 guidance and details of the acquisition of clothing brand Pretty Little Things for £3.3 million. Shares in the company jumped 12.5% to 133p yesterday. ‘Given Boohoo’s strong financial position, more than £50 million of cash on the balance sheet, further M&A activity cannot be ruled out. We do note though that in the near-term the company will embark on an extensive capital expenditure programme, building a second warehouse facility to support future growth,’ said Mensah. ‘[Its latest] statement gives us confidence to reiterate our bullish stance around the group. We feel the business has delivered revenue and profit growth simultaneously and has acquired a fast growing business at what we would view is a significant discount to its intrinsic value.’ Comment seems a bit positive. red | redartbmud

14/12/2016 16:59 | Empiric/ESP has today issued a note on a new increased draw down facility secured on their properties. ''.... Following draw down of the new GBP40 million facility, the estimated loan to value ratio for the Company will be approximately 30.5 per cent. (30 June 2016: 22.7 per cent.). In accordance with the Company's investment policy, the Company will maintain a conservative level of aggregate borrowings, targeting a level of 35 per cent. but no more than 40 per cent. of the gross asset value of the Company (calculated at the time of draw down).....'' I guess this is the way the property business is conducted but I would appreciate some informed comment. Is this level of debt acceptable? If you would like to read the rest of the note, I found it on the esp thread. Ta muchly, pete | petersinthemarket
14/12/2016 15:55 | Thanks Pete I appreciate your answer. It doesn't seem to difficult a goal..... but when your nuts are on the line.... hehe God luck | thelongandtheshortandthetall
14/12/2016 13:06 | Cheers APAD. I'm not surprised to see them not publishing the data any more. FWIW, I also bought in to IGG this morning. (And added BVXP). | madmix
14/12/2016 13:00 | Hi m, They used to publish these data on the website but stopped. I enquired and they said that it was commercial information. Too right! IGG in profit and a divi on the way. It's been a Boo Boo day, I feel like smiling away, I feel like smiling away at it all.... apad | apad

14/12/2016 10:55 | >>thelongandth With an estimated average div yld of 4.6% across the pf set up costs will be paid back within 1yr and any other improvement will be down to share price aiding capital appreciation. Target is to beat the banks 2.5% pa over 3yrs, so targets are £5125 by 13 dec 2017, £5253/2018, £5384/2019. Should be achievable but, like I said earlier, highly experimental for Mrs P who has always preferred safety and stability. Not for the first time, it's my b*lls on the line. rgds, pete | petersinthemarket

14/12/2016 08:16 | APAD Healthy bounce. red | redartbmud
14/12/2016 08:13 | And a beautiful dawn it was too, red. Nearly got the camera out. Looks like the PLT deal is sensible - gets the speculation out of the way, anyway. It'll be interesting to see how the market values this, cf the option. Where next is more of the same - work a winning formulae. Balance between marketing and margin will be the issue for January's update. I suspect the share price will be all over the place for a while. Now lets see...... apad | apad
14/12/2016 07:54 | APAD Hope you were up before dawn to digest the boo RNS. Diversifying as well as apparently good Trading Update. Where does it go next? red | redartbmud
13/12/2016 23:40 | Hey Pete Genuine question. What did it cost in total for mrs P to invest her 5k? With monthly isa costs and dealing charges, plus spread. If it costs say 250 pound for the above over a year even a 5 percent yeild is really only 2.5 percent. Just somthing to consider . All the best bud | thelongandtheshortandthetall
13/12/2016 22:46 | dogs? - reminds me of ffwd - hope I'm wrong - 7.6% of pf. | petersinthemarket
13/12/2016 22:42 | Totally addicted to polishing the portfolio, Dave. I found that if I left it alone it degraded. Somehow the dogs took over - slow poison, fast poison - learn to be scared of failure. Cut and run. Concentrate on the dogs, they wear disguises. Context can create dogs from prom queens. It's all about dogs. apad | apad
13/12/2016 22:04 | A - as your ''oil note'' implies there might be a significant international effect, simply from a threat. Mrs P says she heard on today's bbc news of a proposed 5p increase in petrol prices. Here we go again. Poor fuel suppliers, always struggling to make a living! | petersinthemarket |
