12/6/2019 14:09 | " I believe Velocys is well positioned to create significant shareholder value already in 2019 from our unique position at the cutting edge of fossil-free aviation." This was an exact quote from Henrik Wareborn Velocys CEO at today's,AGM Sounds like a confident statement to me. Not one from the head of an organisation expecting imminent collapse. Perhaps we may be about to get some long overdue news of stakeholders Here's hoping Regards SP | spurious
04/6/2019 16:12 | Difficulty is with all such promising situations, is judging why exactly they are on the market at this stage. Presumably, to tap shareholders for funds, and then more funds. At some stage, one hopes that shareholders get their reward, but until such time, there is likely to be far more requirement for capital, than likelihood of share appreciation. Abramovitch used to be a large holder here. Is he still buying? | brucie5
04/6/2019 15:27 | Interesting comment at the end: "The first Velocys plant in the UK, which is due to start construction in 2021 and be producing fuel by 2024, will take hundreds of thousands of tonnes of organic household waste and convert it into clean-burning, sustainable fuels, delivering more than 60 per cent greenhouse gas reduction, compared with conventional fossil fuel and savings of 60,000 tonnes of CO2 every year. Latest research findings estimate that the Velocys fuel plant will create more than 5,000 jobs in the UK and add nearly £3bn to the UK economy." Interestingly, the planning submission quotes 600,000 tons of waste pa transported in 20 ton loads by road. By my calculation that equates to 80+ loads per day 24/7!! Document and planning comments by EA and others available on the Immingham planning web site and are not all positive. Still no word re the HMG competition result so a bit too early to count chickens although it does appear that BA may have made a positive investment. All that is required now is for Shell to do the same. Meanwhile today's share price rise is welcome. | thurgarton1
04/6/2019 14:24 | Meant to say, I do not hold shares in VLS. I've edited that now. The rest of the context should make this logical. | brucie5
04/6/2019 14:22 | Yes, ok, same page. Would you mind taking a look at EDEN Research for me. Post me directly if you don't wish to post on ADVFN. Be as brutal as you like. I think you tell things as you see them, though we may not always agree. ;) | brucie5
04/6/2019 13:59 | Brucie. VLS's intentions are necessary and the FT catalyst system clearly works. I'm pretty sure it will happen in some form because we need to tackle carbon emissions, period. My views are always to ascertain whether a business can produce a return on investment, not so much of the good's or bad's of the product, but quite simply, is this a business in the making? Cant see it, but someone will use the ideas and expertise that's for sure and those someone's will have deeper pockets and will earn the rewards. Some company's are not ideal entities for PI involvement and maybe shouldn't have floated, but here we are. | owenski
04/6/2019 13:49 | Owenski ruthlessly on form! Who knows in this case - VLS did well to win here. Aviation is going to face increasing pressure from governments trying to meet emissions targets, as well as in the court of Western public opinion. For the first time in my life I recently felt guilty for flying - to Europe- and tried my best to offset. Many are avoiding flying altogether. I can imagine that if the technology is that good, VLS may be able to get out of the hole they have recently dug themselves. Don't pounce on me all at once! As of now, I (EDIT!) do not. hold shares here. But I don't rule it out as a (highly) speculative buy on the Green opportunities folio! | brucie5
04/6/2019 12:51 | Hmm. I thought VLS was a dead duck. Perhaps like REDT it's still just a brilliant technology in search of a business plan? "UCL’s solution would turn household waste into jet fuel, building plants to convert the waste near landfill sites across the country. The team estimates that this could deliver 3.5 million tonnes of jet fuel annually by 2050, resulting in negative emissions and the equivalent of taking more than 5.5 million cars off the road every year." | brucie5
21/5/2019 14:51 | I saw it too. Very positive and, for a change, a decent bit of PR. Let's hope the annual report reflects this. | thurgarton1
15/5/2019 10:11 | I hadn't appreciated that we are aiming for down to zero carbon emissions with our fuel, until today's results. That's 'between zero & 30% of that of comparable fossil fuels'. (3rd para of chief exec's report) I don't know how 'zero' is achievable but great news to me if it is. | dogwalker
12/5/2019 13:08 | Thanks dog walker and best of luck here! I still have a large stake here so let's hope we gain traction now | kirk 6
12/5/2019 12:25 | Hi kirk 6. I can't read the full article either, not being an ST subscriber. Your post, & the recent 'news' about plane emmissions generally, prompted my post. The share price should be positively effected by the publicity.... so, good. I suppose it could be fantastically good if all airlines could then only operate at all if they used our stuff, which would sell at a price three times more than otherwise. Have to make it first. | dogwalker
12/5/2019 10:48 | So will it effect the price Monday in a positive manner or nothing ? | kirk 6
12/5/2019 09:44 | The latest views mean not adding any more CO2, even if from 'green' fuel, such as ours. So, it's good news but only up to a point. Pity the initiative with Shell et al is so late in the day. | dogwalker
12/5/2019 09:10 | Haven't got full accesshttps://www.th | kirk 6
12/5/2019 08:41 | Can you post article please | kirk 6
12/5/2019 07:33 | A mention in the Sunday Times no less.... | gac141
09/5/2019 10:46 | This is a powerful stock. By the theory of homeopathy, if you keep diluting something, it gets more powerful. | arf dysg
06/5/2019 21:11 | When do people this will come good if ever? This is a boring stock and hold a pretty large stake here just need the dam thing to move. Hardly ever look at this one anymore | kirk 6
06/5/2019 20:35 | Well hello gac - British Airways 'back to the future ?' - if we do get there (in the UK) it will be amazing. The United States holiday has been expensive........ more than a couple of incumbents should have been castrated......It makes you want to spit!....Not sure if the new ones have any voice(or balls) they certainly seem deaf...... Ah well fingers crossed you can't get wetter than wet | deutsch3
06/5/2019 14:56 | gac141: glad to have you back on line! | fluky |
