Maybe the RNS just released solves the puzzle? Like I was saying yesterday I think there will be a lot of repositioning by institutions seeing as the Vectura business model has now changed.

L&G have direct and indirect holdings. For me this is just one of their clients using a L&G account as an intermediary in a share transfer.

SP is now back around the level of pre-results. VEC need to push home the change in strategy and get some newsflow going.

I would hope on the back of the results and the presentation that there will be serious interest from the larger generic companies. That will then force GSK hand, if they think they are vulnerable.

Any further rumours in the city will get reported and the share price will move accordingly.

Diesel-L&G went from below 3% middle of this month to over 5% and now back to below 3% which seems like short term trading rather than reducing weighting due to Vec dropping out of FTSE250. I wonder if they were hoping/expecting better things from the results. Perhaps Polaris can shed some light on it, usually has a better insight than most into the goings on and the prospects associated with Vec.

Don't see how it's about the 250 as they they only increased first to over 3% after VEC vacated... and then to over 5% after the results. Possibly someone used them as a short term intermediary but it seems L&G are back to around their previous level.Whatever the case... the more indicative of good news imo, is L&G have closed their previous short position leaving only four other funds left to go! Doesn't seem that the market is overly keen on buying into the t/o theories at the mo tho!

I would imagine dropping out of the ftse 250 may be behind L&G selling.

Dontay-that's a lot of shares bought and sold recently, hard to work out what L&G have been playing at unless trying to take advantage of the volatility after the results. I did think the rise at the end of last week would continue but perhaps we've to wait for some good news before any significant rise in the share price

L&G disappeared from short listings, taking total shorted stock to 2.7%.... but L&G now also notified as back below 3% holding!

Like a lot of shares, the trading likes the round numbers, once this clears 80 I think it could be a rapid move to 90 for another pause for breath.

Listened to the webcast on a coach up North today. Like the clarity. Going to need patience. Thought there was coherence in almost everything. Optimistic of a good recovery in next 12-18 months.

Ah, the Raven! i had way too many discussions with that poster. I think we all did. ;-)

He/she did have a point on several occasions, but the general tone did rankle.

SP has settled around the same level as pre-results day. Someone made a killing on the volume over the last two trading days but it still only aggregates to about 3% of the total share capitalisation, not overly large volume IMO.

I've only made a few k and, as it is not realised, is only a paper gain. I am looking for a lot more based on my inference of the report tone and presentation.

TY cityfarmer for the analyst link, as i probably would not have listened otherwise and be left speculating in the dark. That 1 hr presentation just supported everything i was thinking from reading the report alone.

Now we sit and await developments...

whether the price is 80p or 120p then the nil paid options will still be nil paid. They are part of the agreed long term retention plan agreed by shareholders. They will vest on certain conditions but are more than likely to vest!

Not sure I like the way the finance director and CEO announced their awards at nil cost to them at 4.15 on a Friday.I will be looking closely at the terms of this award in the directors remuneration report in the audited accounts. The share is at an all time low and the grant is made. No, I do not like this at all.

Hi Ace,

Nice try but no, i do not work in pharma. I have a chemistry degree and doctorate, with supplementary biochemistry.

Some pharma comes through my door at work, but then so does almost everything else. I work at a large scale research infrastructure in the UK, having worked in Sweden (where the next International facility is being built), Germany and France (each operate similar facilities but not the same type). I work with neutrons, currently spallation source based but, previously, using research reactors.

I used to live up the road from the SKP manufacturing facility in Lyon (large scale facility in France is in Grenoble) and the facility under construction in Sweden has the old AZN research complex in Lund as its offices. AZN did respiratory development work there in the past and i talked to a lot of people about formulation and device work, who were formerly AZN staff.

I also spend time in Gothenburg, where AZN have their current Swedish site and had some very enlightening discussions with next generation inhaler developers via my university links. Several of my ex-university colleagues are now AZN.

Apparently, i also have an eye for details, quite handy in my line of work! ;-)

regards,

Paul

Alex, Yes Fluti put us all through hell and back as SKP holders I must have been posting on SKP for 20 years! The only thing that would bring me to sell now would be if Raven returned that bloody bird used to drive me mad flapping about :-)

cityfarmer-I, too, have been in SKP for many, many years. I almost panicked when they got down to around 25p but held on and then invested most of my pension in them at 43p. I've done very well out of them over the years but selling a year ago and buying back now would have been even better.

I don't think in VEC's case destruction is within their GSK's power - only the ability to make life difficult. In which case t/o and dismember could be their route.
