11/9/2012 22:29 | utrecht_00. I see three trades totalling approx. 400,000 at 8:57am. All "O" trades at 470p while the quote was 470.0/471.5p. Didn't seem to impact on the quote. | ![]() ed 123
11/9/2012 19:31 | strange, volume for today says over 440K but I can't see any trades that get us anywhere near that number. Not even the a late reported one. | utrecht_00

10/9/2012 10:45 | agreed what exactly did they think was going to happen the balance sheet when the decline at the Don's fields is as predicted (and as detailed by Enquested a few weeks ago) and when they knew what was being drilled and the costs of Causeway (although as noted by others, there's a cost overrun there)? | ![]() frazboy
10/9/2012 10:16 | Peel Hunt are clowns. | utrecht_00
10/9/2012 09:47 | Werner Riding-Peel Hunt, downgrades from Buy to Hold after a trading update revealed a rise in net debt. His target price moves from 600p to 525p. | ![]() azalea
09/9/2012 17:36 | The VPP sale gets a mensh in the story about the sale of an Israeli gas field... in the ST today | ![]() eipgam
09/9/2012 14:10 | I would expect someone like Enquest to make a bid and pretty soon to take out all the other options/bids. I don't think you can trade this one as news could come anytime really. | utrecht_00
09/9/2012 13:45 | well it was trading at 440 - 460p before the sale/merger review. i guess from now on this should be almost like a regular T/O target after it enters the disclosure table which basically means it should be market neutral and shouldn't fall a lot from this level. they will have to spend some cash and set up a data room and i guess we will have some info either leaked or RNSed on how many parties have expressed interest within a month or two. this is not a distressed sale it will be shocking if it falls 20-30% from here on no new info say in the next 2-3 months. edit: Praxient Capital - that guy has increased his holding in July and then last Thursday has bought more on leverage via CFD... this means he is expecting something to happen sooner rather than later! | aleks_atanasov
08/9/2012 13:06 | bluesky with respect its not just a few dusters its a real lack of ideas and execution. Its now time for the BOD to sell. Peel Hunt are clowns as well. | utrecht_00
07/9/2012 22:35 | That's why they are not in the Morgan Stanley tier....a few dusters and hey ho...short termism vs the bigger picture | ![]() bbluesky
07/9/2012 18:10 | ADVFN competitor.com/actio Peel Hunt downgrades Valiant Petroleum from buy to hold, target price cut from 600p to 525p. How can a broker value VPP at £6, and then as soon as they say they are going to sell the co (poss), it's now worth, in their eyes, 12.5% less. Charlatans, the lot of them! | ![]() eipgam
07/9/2012 16:09 | the market is showing the BOD today what it thinks of talks about merging or other assets and geographies. I can't imagine the major II's have said anything other than sell the company and if a bid come in over 650p even 625p we will sell. | utrecht_00
07/9/2012 11:40 | And this should help. Sanjeev Bahl, analyst at Numis Securities, said today that the main beneficiary of the tax break could be oil firm EnQuest, which has exploration operations in the North Sea. He added: "Other beneficiaries will be mature North Sea producers such as Premier Oil, Valiant and to a very small extent Tullow Oil. | ![]() ohisay

07/9/2012 11:30 | I can't see anything happening until Causeway is onstream and arguably until a decent period of time has elapsed to establish a decline curve. Only then will the criticality of the deferred water injector be known. Pretty disappointed in the Crawford update. As others have stated previously, Crawford forms a significant part of VPP's portfolio. How long have these guys had to firm up a development plan? Now they expect to sell a part of something where neither VPP or their partners have a clearly defined direction in which to take it. Seems they've focussed too much energy drilling dry hole than ensuring their partners fulfil their obligations on one of their key assets. | ![]() sludgesurfer
07/9/2012 10:00 | well.. classic situation the board doesnt want to be taken over but in this case i think they have no choice. | aleks_atanasov
07/9/2012 09:54 | Ed, totally agree a load of bs from the BOD trying to save face. The company is up for sale and will be sold. What an explo track record to take into a merger. Most of the press and brokers recognise that its a sale and it is. | utrecht_00 |
