ROB one well actually, Africa Oils well in Kenya, which I bought on April 2nd for $3.90 and sold yesterday for 7.90.......100pc in a month.

Now on VPP I bought at 540p average for the Tybalt well.

Not got any margin, so I will just wait and see if my contacts are up to it..........Tybalt good north sea recovery with upside.

The drop today is Volvo selling. He seems to think he knows the out come of every well as he is on all the boards telling everyone what is happening on nearly every well being drilled.

who knows. We could do with a positive RNS although this fall is i assume mainly PI's bailing as they get margin calls on other stocks. People haven't learn't from last August it would seem.

Perhaps Goldman Sachs are behind at least some of today's fall?

Downgraded VPP from Buy to Neutral.

Then the strange bit; GS at the same time raised their price target from 918p to 1079p. The current market price for VPP is 505p.

So why downgrade?

Down another 4% this morning, while some other oil stocks are up.

Where did I put those rose-tinteds? Ah yes, now I see more clearly. Well done to management for laying off some of the Tybalt risk ahead of the result. On to the next well.

What's delaying that rns?

Thanks, Volvo. :-)

General down day for the market - eurozone imploding, also oil price sliding, so VPP unlikely to be immune.

I've been holding VPP for some time, since before Osborne's raid. Whatever happens with Tybalt I'll probably hold at least for the result on Handcross and possibly longer. Management seem to be making good moves, including and importantly risk management.

Ed.........the 540p close says the opposite to me..........someone was buying all day.....Tybalt will be a good north sea find with upside.

Down 15p this morning.

Is this saying something about Tybalt?

Not long to wait.

Your right I don't, but people in the North sea have said to me.....it should be a good find/producer with plenty of upside.....and thats why I bought the shares. Simples.

Share price returned to its long term support at 550p and is set fair.

Lets see what Tybalt brings.

What about Don SW Panel E, net 2-3 mmbbls to Valiant?

Also, Tybalt discovery, flowed nicely. Currently being appraised.

Further, as a hedge against exploration failure, they have used some of their cashflow to buy reserves.

Yes, I'd like them to discover something big, but they are taking a balanced approach to growing the business.

all this drilling is no good if they all come up dry, which they seem to do.

This morning Valiant Petroleum (LON:VPP) said it expects an exploration well on the Timon prospect to spud in the next few days. This will be the latest in a series of wells in the North Sea.
It is currently one of the most active areas for exploration and appraisal drilling
