20/8/2012 09:39 | added this morning, i agree with the estimate of 7,100 bopd for 2012 (calculated from Enquest and DECC's figures). i'm expecting 9,000 bopd for 2013 assuming causeway at plateau on 1st October 2012. both numbers are conservative (ignoring Fionn). T/O next year should exceed $330m (£210m), makes the current market cap look modest. i do expect a tail off in 2014 but still around 6,000 bopd (again conservative, and ignores Fionn) and anything else they may come across (probably due to non-drill opportunities) | ![]() frazboy
16/8/2012 15:53 | Thanks, nnnvvv. :-) It looks like they went from 'not reportable' to 8% and back to 'not reportable' in the space of one month. It seems a bit weird. On the other hand, it looks like they paid around 400p and sold at around 425p, for, say, 2 million shares. So a profit of around £500,000 in a month. If I had a spare £8m I could do that sort of thing too. :-( | ![]() ed 123
16/8/2012 14:40 | Not sure if they bought in the IPO but they breeched the 8% threshold back in July: | nnnvvv
16/8/2012 14:16 | No problem. Easily done. | ![]() ed 123
16/8/2012 13:47 | apols misread, knew it was too good to be true! | utrecht_00
16/8/2012 11:32 | Hi utrecht_100. Yes, Credit Suisse have sold. Wonder if they bought in the IPO? Would be interested to see who's been doing the big recent buying. Support again today, offer price reached 430.75p now. | ![]() ed 123
16/8/2012 11:17 | Really? It looks to me like they dropped below the 5% threshold. | nnnvvv
16/8/2012 10:11 | Ed good call, Credit Suisse increasing its stake to over 5%. | utrecht_00
14/8/2012 16:58 | Low volume today, but steady intraday support for the share price. Uncrossed at the day's high point (429.5p). SP recently went up through the 50 day moving average. Closing in on the 100 day MA. Looking at the chart, I can see this running up to around 550p. Interims and first oil at Causeway could give the fundamental support to this target. | ![]() ed 123
14/8/2012 08:57 | Valiant's interims are due around the end of this month. Dons decline as expected. Enquest is looking at development options for Crawford/Porter (Valiant 29%). Gross reserves stated as about 27 mmboe, but 200 mmboe in place. (Potential for increase in recovery rate?) Crawford/Porter production planned for 2015 (FDP submission later this year). For Valiant, that production would 'replace' the decline from the Dons and Causeway/Fionn. The value of Valiant's tax losses (reported at the end of last year) was about equal to 75% of its current market capitalisation. Valiant already feels like a division of Enquest (due to shared interests). I'd be happy for Enquest to swallow Valiant, subject to a satisfactory premium. Recalling some big trades recently, we are still due some holdings notifications. | ![]() ed 123
