18/5/2009 08:49 | Why are some people tying themselves in knots? The CFO/VS is being replaced by a another UEN insider (G. Kazakov), but gets to keep a non-executive seat on the Board, a seat it should be remembered held only on an interim basis since last December (RNS 22/12/08). What is perhaps new is that Kazakov's job now comes with executive directorship Board power, whereas the immediately previous RNS (29/4/09)informed only of a forthcoming non-executive addition to the BOD. So all this then is nothing more than a musical chairs game, with the new guy at the top looking to strengthen his hand within the BOD. More precisely it appears to be an orderly internal succession/transfer of power, which IMO, will probably be formally approved at the next AGM. Accordingly, no coup d'etat here, which is what any investor wants to see avoided. Even if one were to postulate that this transition marks a transfer from those within UEN who were fed up and wanted to close up shop/delist vs those (younger bloods?) who were/are determined to fight on, survive and prosper. As for the restructuring "options" discussions. Simply, they continue as before. As they have not concluded, what else is there to say. spp119 | spp119 | |
