Exactly
Otherwise onshore oil would have been included.

You thick idiot...MER UK was set up solely to maximise economic recovery from the continental shelf!!!!

Exactly
MER = Maximise Economic Recovery

So why is onshore oil not part of the package. Simple answer is that govt. does not consider onshore oil part of the package IMO otherwise it would be part of MER.

7) Post-Brexit, the need to improve the UK’s energy security is more important than ever. We are beginning to reach levels of gas and oil imports that we have not seen since the early 1970s, before large-scale North Sea production. In 2015, the UK spent over £14 billion on net energy imports – crude oil, oil products, natural gas, coal and electricity – and the figure was over £20 billion in 2012 and 2013, when prices were much higher. We estimate that by 2030 imports of gas alone could cost the UK economy up to £10 billion per year.

8) An industrial strategy should therefore also look to address the rising share of the UK’s energy mix that is imported, by encouraging home-grown energy sources. There is an urgent need to invest in all onshore production, be it shale or non-shale, alongside further investment in the North Sea, to complement nuclear and renewable developments.

"34) More recently, EY carried out a similar assessment of the potential of oil production from the Kimmeridge Limestone in the South East of England. Over the next 40 years, oil production from the Kimmeridge Limestone could provide up to £21 billion of economic activity in the supply chain,[19] together with peak job creation of up to 49,000.[20] Successful flow-testing of the Kimmeridge Limestone oil play took place earlier this year."

43) An industrial strategy should therefore also look to address the rising share of the UK’s energy mix that is imported, by encouraging home-grown energy sources. There is an urgent need to invest in all onshore production, be it shale or non-shale, alongside further investment in the North Sea, to complement nuclear and renewable developments.

Pmsl beewrong, MER UK is primarily focused on off shore oil you numptie, and so no surprise that onshore oil development plans didn’t get much of a mention.

The MER UK Forum was set up to bring together government, industry and the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) to deliver a programme of work to maximise economic recovery from the UK Continental Shelf (MER UK) and maximise the UK value from the oil and gas industry as a whole.

I didn't see anything in the recent MER UK documentation about onshore oil that would make a difference. As usual moneymunch is barking up the wrong tree.
Perhaps he should do his due diligence IMO.
All shares will be red today IMO so it's a good time to know which and when to buy for a small profit.

"With Angus Energy listing on AIM 14th November, Surrey County Councils meeting on the 7th December could be timely for Brockham with oil on the agenda."
What a stupid statement. Not remotely related as Holmwood is way ahead in planning stage.

The only worry I have is how your mate Trump will affect the $!

Must try harder.

ps beewrong , are you going to be posting negatively on Ukog and Alba today, where you have no vested interest with your apparent phobia and neurosis on any form of risk reward opportunity on AIM, or will you be more concerned with your "Main" stream investments where ever they might be now that Predsident Trump is at the helm!!!!???? Pmsl...;-))))

IMO don't get suckered in by a brokers note. In 2013/2014, many, including me were waiting for HH to spud. It started in 2013 with promise of spud in new year. All these announcements came by RNS. Eventually spudded in early September 2014 and a further 2 weeks just to get into the ground. Well and truly fobbed off IMO.
Still no sign EA permit.
3 weeks needed for HSE
OGA approval?
One would expect company to come out with a RNS if things were that close IMO.

Alba Mineral Resources Plc Revised BUY note from Dowgate Capital
Posted by: giles.arbor 7th November 2016

Dowgate Capital said this morning that they have issued a revised ‘BUY’ research note for Alba Mineral Resources Plc (LON:ALBA), with a 14.7p price target.
“… Brockham side track well expected to be spudded within the next few weeks, Alba Mineral Resources (ALBA.L) will now be entering a more intensive and high impact newsflow period, which could create near term cash flow generation, with an immediate read across to the asset value and monetisation opportunities of the adjacent Horse Hill licences (lic.).”
“… Alba is uniquely placed as the only AIM listed company with direct interests in both Southern England Weald Basin plays Brockham and Horse Hill.”
“… also provides exposure to non oil interests, including its Amitsoq graphite and gold prospective project on the southern tip of Greenland. This asset has largely been overlooked by investors, as the Group’s oil interests have taken centre stage. Under a new deal announced on … ”
” … from Brockham and its impact upon Horse Hill, along with further exploration results from the Greenland and Ireland projects provide for an exciting newsflow period ahead. To this end we continue to recommend Alba Mineral Resources plc with a price target of 14.7p per share. ”
