If arbitration took a year or more wouldn't lawyers fees almost equal the amount in dispute.? At least the lawyers can't loose!

Phillis... I too was involved in arbitration that took over a year, but i kinda think that considering the players and what is at stake, a judgement may be made a tad quicker in this case.

I'm with you on the £18 though.

That bid rumour (don't forget to sort the capital gains tax this time) and good well result at Zaedyus just does not go away.....but there again with a share price at 1108 we could do with some good news.

September promises to be a huge month for Tullow Oil. Shares of the London-based oil and gas producer gushed 34p to 1109p on expectations that a re-rating of the stock should follow upbeat drilling results from its high impact Zaedyus and Montserrado wells in French Guiana and Africa respectively.

The London-based group's coffers will also be swelled to the tune of around £1.8billion soon following the long-awaited completion of the sale to China's CNOOC and France's Total of its Ugandan operations.

Irish stockbroker Davy is confident that Tullow's shares have only one way to go, and that's north. It values the group at 1519p a share with commercial and underdeveloped reserves making up 971p of this amount.
Enlarge Market report

Yesterday's gain was accompanied by vague gossip that CNOOC, or China National Offshore Oil Corporation, the third largest national oil company in the People's Republic of China, could be lining up a £13.6bn or £15 a share cash bid for Tullow and has hired giant US securities firm Goldman Sachs to advise on the deal.

Tullow last month reported better-than-expected interim results showing revenues up 119 per cent to £1.06billion, driven by production growth of 35pc and strong commodity prices.

Depends how well defined the issues are, and how many of them are to be the subject of the arbitration. I would be surprised to see a result in less than three months, but you never know, as an arbitration can end abruptly if one side realises they have lost.
Regards.

I don't believe it! Best performing oil share to-day. I take it that somebody believes the arbitration will be favourable to Tullow.

I suppose this is good news.....

Uganda's Tax Appeals Tribunal has suspended a hearing of the tax dispute between the government and London-listed Heritage Oil PLC (HOIL.LN) in Kampala to allow the parties to proceed with the ongoing arbitration in London, Ugandan officials said Thursday.

Don`t worry plenty of time to get a stake , especially if the predicted double dip crash sends the market ito free fall : 4500 LSE , 9500 Dow ?

But , when the tide comes back in ......this will surely be a winner .
