And I also think that a bid on the company is now very likely, because it is way oversold. Huge value here. Just glad I'm on board at the moment :-)
rockabilly.

I can't help but have a smile today. I've bought back into TLW today after a few months chasing other stocks. Seems to me that people have forgotten that the results are due out tomorrow...and I'm expecting some good figures DYOR boys and girls, as usual, but I'm looking to make a fair gain on this in a very short space of time :-)
rockabilly.

can someone tell me why the difference in wti crude and brent is so large?
I make it about $35 a barrell-I can't get my head around it and why consumers dont just switch to buying wti.
Any explanation would be helpful-Thanks in advance

If they do, I hope they consider capital gains implications carefully!

Production and drilling delays well documented so may be priced in?

I think TLW could do worse than flog their remaining interests in Uganda to Total and CNooc. It has been a drag on the share price now for two years or more.

Surely this has got to be the worst performing oil share at the moment.Even BP wirh the Gulf oil leak has done better!.Can the interm results make it even worse? The share price at one stage was on a par with BG

ringer - one bright point, now Libya is facing a new political structure after tonight, the Cnooc/Total connection could prove very timely

US May Be On Its Way To Default On Debt

The U.S. may be on its way to default on its debt despite the U.S. government's ability to print more money, a Chinese think tank researcher said Monday.

There is no guarantee for sovereign debt, which increases the risks the lenders face, said Wang Tianlong, a researcher at the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, a think tank supervised by the country's economic planner, adding that the issuer could be more careless in using the loans.

In the short term, the U.S. doesn't have much ability to reduce its deficit, Wang said in an opinion piece published in Securities Times. He added that the U.S. lacks the political system to guarantee that it will not default on its debt.

AH. So now we know why the share price has fallen so much...just after I topped up yesterday! Typical. However hope springs eternal..I am sure that the interims will include the good news that the Cnooc/Total/Tlw deal will be completed "very soon"...maybe before Xmas. I seem to remember saying something similar before last Xmas!.

Irrelevant? How do you know what benchmark governments use in defining how many barrells tullow get to keep? What benchmark do they use for hedging? What markets do they sell in?
I think you will find most is WTI

had these for 10 year now so still in profit..but it has underperformed for the last few years, problems now apear in Ghana, and Uganda was "sorted in a few weeks" acording to last company update and 3 months on due another company update 24th august so how long is a few weeks, the Uganda fiasco has been going on for years. i am not so confident about this share now it looks good on paper but the market makers push it down twice the % of ftse ?
