18/3/2022 11:29 | The death knell for this stock was the fact that it had to pay over 10% interest on its loan facilities last year. This despite the incredibly friendly corporate bond market that was in place at the time. In essence the company is working for the debt holders. This could change if oil prices stay high for long or if production can be increased | ![]() dealy

17/3/2022 05:49 | Repsol Guyana to start drilling May 15th. Spanish oil firm Repsol, operator of the Kanuku Block offshore Guyana, is in search of companies to provide information regarding well testing services. In Requests For Information (FRI) posted by its local affiliate Repsol Exploración Guyana on Friday, the company shared that it is looking for services related to fluid analysis; image log processing and interpretation; and rock analysis. These services will be part of exploration activities at the Beebei-Potaro well in the Kanuku Block. Under rock analysis services, the selected company will perform sidewall cores, cuttings and/or isojars analysis. The studies may include sidewall cores which include sample preparation and preliminary analyses, and petrographic studies. A cuttings/isojars analysis will also be conducted for geology, special core analysis, fluid inclusion microthermometry and/or geochemistry. Meanwhile, as part of the Image Logs Processing and Interpretation services for the Beebei-Potaro well, in case of success, a resistivity borehole imaging tool will be run over up to three reservoir intervals in two different hole sections. A total reservoir section of up to 500 meters may be requested to be interpreted. The request is to have a processing and geological interpretation of the resistivity image log. As it relates to the Fluids Analysis Services, the successful company will perform fluid samples analysis. The studies may include flow assurance and geochemistry, among others. Drilling operations will start at Beebei-1 on May 15, 2022. The estimated operation time for the well is 60 days. The water depth is 71 meters, and the total depth of the well will be 4539 meters measured depth below rotary table (MDRT) / 4390 meters true vertical depth (TVDSS). The geological targets are Oligocene, Upper Campanian and Lower Campanian. The Beebei-Potaro exploratory well will target two main objectives and one secondary objective. The main objectives include one in the Tertiary (Oligocene) and one in the Upper Cretaceous (Upper Campanian). Six wells were previously drilled in the Kanuku Block, namely Carapa-1, Jaguar-1, Berbice -2, Abary-1 and Mahaica-1 and 2. Interested bidders have up until March 24, 2022, to submit their tenders to Repsol. Repsol has a 37.5 stake in the Kanuku Block. The other partners are Tullow (37.5%) and Total (25%). | ![]() subsurface
