08/3/2022 09:54 | Thanks SS lots of detail in there. Something will have to be done in Europe to reduce dependence on Russian gas but there are no obvious quick wins other than importing more LNG from places like US and Qatar. Back to TEN, that unidentified tanker arrived this AM and looks to be lining up to the FPSO for an offload which will probably complete tomorrow late pm/evening. | ![]() xxnjr

08/3/2022 00:52 | It certainly does SS but how is the gas going to get from Ghana to Europe? I could see ENI doing something in the pipeline space combining Ghana and new Ivory Coast finds but that could be at least 3 yrs away at best even if trigger pulled today? In the meantime Kosmos/BP seem quite well positioned. Their 2.5 mmtpa FLNG is >70% built and comes on in about 18 months. Plus they will FID within 6 months phase 2 another 2.5 mtpa making use of same facility for gross CAPEX of $1bn. Beyond that they have a 15 mmtpa LNG scheme on 'fast track' to FID but build out is probably at least 5 yrs away. | ![]() xxnjr
07/3/2022 22:21 | Russia Threatens To Cut Off Flow Of Nordstream 1 Pipeline Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak on Monday has said that Russia could cut natural gas supplies to Germany via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. “In connection with unfounded accusations against Russia regarding the energy crisis in Europe and the imposition of a ban on Nord Stream 2, we have every right to take a matching decision and impose an embargo on gas pumping through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline,” Novak said in a state television broadcast on Monday, adding that “so far, we are not taking such a decision.” Russia has long maintained that it was not using natural gas as a weapon, but that hasn’t stopped the United States and others from warning Europe that being beholden to Russia for a significant share of its natural gas supplies could allow Russia to weaponize the flow of that gas. Today, those warnings seem well-founded, although Russia has yet to make good on its new threat. U.S. lawmakers have long maintained that Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline—which is now complete but not flowing gas—would further put Europe in Russia’s grip with energy security. Germany, already reliant on Russia for much of its natural gas needs, ruled last October that the Nord Stream 2 pipeline posed no security-of-supply threat. But Germany itself asked the economy ministry to withdraw a binding opinion stating that it posed no threat, so the country could shelve the pipeline after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Europe gets 40% of its natural gas supply from Russia. If Russia does cut off the flow of Nord Stream 1, natural gas prices in Europe will climb even higher. Natural gas prices are already at a record high, up 42% from Friday’s close to $293 per MwH on Monday. The case must be stronger now for Africa gas to Europe! | ![]() subsurface

07/3/2022 11:02 | Been a while since we had an offload from TEN. An unidentified tanker is about 250 kms out heading in the general direction of W.Ghana. 07/3/2022 08:31 | At 78$\bbl yes. But IR told me the big chunk of their lowest hedges dont come on their book before Q2. So atm it should profit more than that. But the next tullow cargo wont be before mid march at jubilee. If you add the 5-6k bopd from the pre emption stake that doesnt count into that it looks a bit more rosy. But in the end tullow profits from a higher oil price nevertheless. No matter how much is hedged, higher oil price is better than a low one :)And it will enable tullow to get rid of their kenya stake at a far better price. | ![]() thommie

06/3/2022 19:37 | And thats only the peak of the iceberg! How many appraisel wells would be needed (costing another 200-300m) before any development that would cost billions before any production in maybe 2026-2027?For me any farm down with a free carry on any drilling costs would be perfect. Tullow could then sell its little stake in any potential discovery to a major for some money.. This high cost drills are just nothing for a mid cap independent! | ![]() thommie |
