Thanks SS, was wondering what was going on there. Doesn't exactly sound like a slam dunk.

".....The Joint Venture did not get MDT data or sidewall core samples and has engaged an independent third-party to complete further detailed studies and laboratory analysis on drilling cuttings from the Santonian, Campanian and Maastrichtian intervals and well-bore fluid samples to evaluate in situ hydrocarbons. Preliminary results from the Santonian interval indicate the presence of liquid hydrocarbons in the reservoir. Results from the Campanian and Maastrichtian intervals are pending.

Not sure if they tried and failed, or just didn't try with the MDT etc etc before P&A'ing the well?

"The final cost of the Kawa-1 exploration well was $141 million"!!!

Note they are not appraising Kawa but will drill another well elsewhere on the block.

"CGX is currently assessing several strategic opportunities to obtain additional financing to meet the costs of the drilling program."

Curved ball from Putin re the Iran deal.

"Talks between Tehran and global powers to revive the tattered 2015 nuclear deal - to avoid Iran becoming a nuclear military power - have run into difficulty with a new demand from Russia for written American guarantees that sanctions on Moscow over the invasion of Ukraine would not harm Russian cooperation with Iran.

There had been progress at talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna but Russia’s demand is “not constructive”, a senior Iranian official said today."

Maybe there will be some overlap SS. Hopefully it's like an expanding balloon.
Not sure if we mentioned it before but Repsol's next well on Kanuka is being drilled with a jack-up rig; i.e on the shelf, not closer to the shelf edge.

Morning SS, my take from the call was "outer edges" referred to the foot prints of existing discovered resources and planned FPSO developments, not necessarily outer edges of the basin per se. He did say FT was "up-dip of Lisa" but I think you established earlier that Fangtooth is located approximately 11 miles (18 kilometers) northwest of Liza which is kind of on trend with the line you could draw through Apache/Exxon discoveries.

Exxon Investor day will have a webcast available

According to the ExxonMobil Senior Vice President, the find at Fangtooth just to west of Liza, with the same quality of oil, has caused a re-evaluation of the Stabroek Block. “That investment alone because it is at the deeper horizon has given us a new insight into how that basin can develop and its impacting what our next level of exploration will be so that is happening all the time. We’re doing exploration in between the existing operations, our investments and on the outer edges. So that is constantly changing our development plan,” he said.

Strong drilling performance over the period achieved both cost and efficiency improvements compared to previous drilling campaigns.

Debt reduction remains a key priority and the Group remains on track to materially reduce net debt and achieve gearing of less than 1.5x net debt to EBITDAX by 2025.

I think Rahul could beat that target by a year with increased production and POO

For starters Raul since joining in 2020 i believe has cleaned up the company, given it a clear strategy at the same time as gradually improving the share price
