14/12/2019 14:17 | Heavy sour crude - 5million bop/d of that is refined on US Gulf Coast (Padd 3) alone says EIA. So most USGC refineries are designed to handle heavy stuff and will have sulphur handling units. Venezuela was one of the USGC's major suppliers of heavy crude and currently has exporting restrictions to the US. US shale oil has too high an API for many USGC refinery designs, although can be used as a diluent for the heavy stuff. But Guyana heavy would appear to be suitable it has a high overpressured reservoir, good sands, high temperature crude and with long laterals or even vertical wellbores would be suitable perhaps without ESP's for export and is just 6 days steaming away from the USGC must be enough though (Total Padd3 Sulphur production - 25,106 short tons/day) | ![]() billy_buffin | |
