It reeks of desperation and begging for new business. And if you read at the end they will also do it for free as they will "removed our normal upfront costs to help insurers and brokers move swiftly" Those have the slimmest margins of all, practically not worth selling as it's £3 per dongle. And they'll remove their upfront costs as well? So loss making. Business as usual. Sales are vanity, profits are sanity and TRAK is insane. They must be really hurting right now, burning cash like insane but this time they're out of choices: no placing possible, already got a government loan, already got a partner to buy 20% for peanuts and already maxed the credit card into the red. No cost cutting left either as they have been doing that for 2 year already, there's not much left to cut other than laying off massively their IT department. With Oil dropping like crazy, telematics savings in gas also do not make so much sense anymore compared to the cost of such an investment. This is really getting hit from all sides. I was an idiot to not have seen this coming but at least I got out at 16p.

Another news item hxxps://www.trakm8.com/news/trakm8-helping-insurers-keep-data-flowing Reads well but I do wonder if they are being a bit optimistic about (new) client needs right now.

Agree, it's positive re a shake up of the board, but would still be interested in the underlying reasons.

Naturally, I fall into the recent BOD shake up as a positive - baby steps mind as the Watkins and Cowleys need pruning.

Yes, I saw that. Not sure whether we should read too much into it, or not. The commentary seemed slightly odd - 'short sabbatical' tends to imply a return of some sort at some point. But then why resign? Bound to be some who see this as a harbinger of doom, and others who dismiss as meaningless. Not sure which camp I fall into at the present.

Not a single word from AA, on the contrary cutting or deferring all non necessary budget like marketing and ads. Smart Breakdown as good as dead, not that it was ever alive.

Think the commentary might be getting overly negative. The second half of the year was much better. They have good recurring revenue and have taken a lot of cost out of the business. The AA are finally pushing smart breakdown. Working capital position should be much better now they have delivered the first large batch of units to AA. They are obviously going to have issues with new client wins whilst the country is in lockdown. It is a shame covid kicked off when it did. Things were actually starting to look much more positive than they had done for a very long time. Hopefully that momentum can pick up pace once things start getting back to some form of normality.

Agreed, although I cannot see a positive future for anything at the moment. Personally, I am surprised to see Trakm8 rising on small volumes.

No, he's definitely been appointed to the BOD as a Exc Director. Yesterday's RNS is the second in a series of mandatory notifications. The website may be slower to catch up (particularly, if media relations boss - 'Karen' is working from home and juggling childcare and so on). Yes, given their earlier statements suggesting that the second half was where the weight is, I think most has been achieved in H2. I suspect we'll also get a more detailed trading update in April.

I checked the board page here and this new guy isn't mentioned so possibly a director in job title only. hxxps://www.trakm8.com/investor-relations/board-members If they were making a 2m loss and this year they make a small profit then that's a massive turnaround. Especially if it's all been achieved in H2. We know there were cost savings of 800k - can't remember exact number - which makes the maths simple because then it's extra 1.2m in revenue or 100k per month over 12 months. But if that's just in H2 then it's more like an extra 200k per month. If it's been ramping up over H2 it could be more per month now which if continued all next year would see an extra 1m to 2m in profit by the year end. Hopefully this will be clearer once the results land.

Another director to get a salary for nothing...that's more than 1m of salaries going to the board in a company that makes 2m losses every year.

Tried to buy some today (just as a test), Halifax would only allow me to get 1,000 (nothing larger) shares at 12.94p. Probably nothing but hopefully a meaningful sign.

QTX have released a TU which gives a little insight into the situation https://uk.advfn.com/stock-market/london/quartix-QTX/share-news/Quartix-Holdings-PLC-AGM-Trading-Statement/82064159 Trakm8fan, I assume that 16p was an average price.

Yes, they were tweeting about this earlier as well. Fleet may become a little precarious, but car insurance (and Trak represents the foundation of the product (reduction for young/careful drivers)) is one of the more bullet proof industries, in difficult times. Those I know who work in insurance have said, so far it's very much business as usual - just from home. That said, if it went on for months and months, it could be more precarious.
