Yes, I know, it is a fantastic achievement and will transform Tomco. It has been a rough old road but if you read up on the new shipping fuel requirements this is a massive step forward.

I hope JP manages to get this accross in the (hopefully) upcoming update. It is immense news.

Not sure if you have all realised this but:

Known as “IMO 2020”, the rule limits the sulphur in the fuel oil used on board ships operating outside designated emission control areas to 0.50% m/m (mass by mass) - a significant reduction from the previous limit of 3.5%. Within specific designated emission control areas the limits were already stricter (0.10%).

From the Petroteq new article :

“Due to our Utah operations, we are uniquely positioned. Utah oil sands are a rare heavy oil resource containing little to no sulfur. The heavy sweet oil found within the state meets IMO 2020 standards, and it is on par with production from the Bakken and the Permian basins.”


WHICH MEANS GOOD BYE QFI, WE DONT NEED YOUR MSAR AND DONT NEED TO PAY YOU A ROYALTY!

This is massivenews and means we can go straight to production and sell to the shipping industry. They have achieved something VERY BIG here.
