David, true. What is said here won't make a blind bit of difference to the current big boys games.I can take both sides of an equation but you come across as a bit of a moaner. Of course, reading posts you don't get the way the poster is trying to make the point and most of the time sarcasm can be completely missed.

Let's see,why was it in an uptrend, could it be because MM stated on the conf call he wanted to take private and had bids rejected and then the twitterati started buying in. Merricks views appear reasonable and balanced to me. It appears if you don't add a comment about ingenuity and the amazing growth rate (from a different era) then you are a deramper. A certain someone just wants to own this board and censor any non bullish discussion. If this person is so confident in their position why do they even feel the need to engage in the mud slinging. We all know this board isn't going to make a blind bit of difference to what happens here and ppl on here cannot hope to move the share price so why the hate

What are you're data points to this conclusion please share

As THG was in uptrend before the bid having gained 30% from lows so that conflicts with your opinion

Or are you as i suspect just winging it?

Davidro77 you are right but self proclaimed masters to The THG Forum shoot down any sensible debate unless it massages their egos

For clarity - prior to announcement shorts were being reloaded. It is only the potential sale announcement that has saved bacon (short term) - very good news is big hedges are reversing positions so more credence to offer

But without the offer THG had problems, inflation, discretionary consumable sector, SoftBank option not being invoked and potential balance sheet write downs due to premium value acquisitions, if it wasn’t for takeover speculation then these would defo be in downtrend - but latest RNS imply revaluing of THG. But if offers do not materialise then potential correction will be harsh.

As somebody said plenty of games before 16th - if bidding war yes great - but I haven’t got a clue what impact and assurances are required re the SoftBank option - a consortium bid SoftBank, MM and friends most viable

David the Trinny London valuation is from 10th May 2022 and is based on 4.5 x Annual Sales. That is why I included it?

Put your glasses and have a rethink as this is a valuation from 2 weeks ago not 2021 :)

Totally pointless trying to compare 2021 to 2022. That is a bygone age totally different environment now. Lots of canary's in the coal mine, even snap saying "conditions have 'deteriorated further and faster than anticipated'". This might get sold but be realistic about valuations in 2022.
