Ted Baker is an example of what is needed after an offer when you go into "due diligence" then it can throw up a number of red flags and the deal gets called off.

Candy bid £2bn for chelsea and then increased that significantly after he found some korean backers.

I think a bid will come from Candy, he is probably annoyed that it leaked and wasnt able to buy enough shares on the hush but now he has to put in a price hoping they accept.

its only been 2 trading days since the rumours, lets see what happens.

lol none taken. I'm just trying to explain the share price action I see, got nothing to do with glasses full or empty. If the share price was 170 then the market believes 170 is the floor and up we go and I wouldn't be asking such silly questions. As it's 140 it clearly thinks the 170 proposal is bunkum and not going to happen so we pin our hopes on a real bidder. If MM does in fact want 2.50 and has the golden share what is the point of anyone bidding below that, as it's just not real. If we get an RNS saying 2.50 bid received I will rejoice and applaud but this whole thing but they always say trade the market you see not the one you want it to be. As debs said an RNS saying new £2 bid is likely to do nothing if then MM just rejects it. He has tried a lot of methods to counter the attack against THG but none have worked to date

Davidro77, it's been heavily manipulated and currently only has one bid and it has been turned down. Obviously if it was accepted we would be up around 169p.We wait a second bid, which may not come, so we are where we are until it lands. There is no guarantee it will land hence the discount to the offer that was rejected.This is not rocket science.

i see shorts still posting, soon to be gone when bids start landing, they've already been caught on the hop with BR before the RNS landed last week, and the next big one should propel us much higher imo

Yes preliminary and "non binding" until due diligence throws up a red flag.

IMO, there will be another bid in the near future. The players are already starting to show their hands.
