@griffo221 that's about as obscure a statement as it gets. I hope something is going on behind the scenes! That's valid for every company. What I am more certain than not is that THG does not have the calibre and skill to negotiate with much smarter PEs. They'll get skint. MM cannot outsmart PE investors. At best he can do a dodgy deal which results in litigation down the road and more risks for investors.

There's no escaping it. Even a 100% jump from here is a 140p stock. PE deal? don't make me laugh. PE's will be offering pennies for this stock because they can!

Its perfectly clear to see that something is going on behind the scenes. I dont think there is a question on that from any side. But what a bizarre stock we are all seeing with THG. So much doesn't equate, genuinely interested and baffled together

I would say, putting some money in gold is not a bad idea. I'm actually surprised that gold hasn't gone up yet in the face of inflation and low IR but we are starting to see it go up. There are a few good gold mining companies around, some trading at very low valuations. Some prefer to own gold, the commodity, not the miners. In any case, a 5% allocation to a gold fund or a miner is a good part of a portfolio (then quarterly rebalance). Some miners pay a nice dividend which has a good cover too.

Russia would be selling gold in the coming months. I doubt that it will make much of a negative impact on the price. All the gold they have will take a while to sell and I bet China will buy most of it at preferential prices...seeing they have gold that nobody wants to buy and need cash.

billionarebob: "buy cheap sell high"...buys THG @ £6, averages down 60,000 @ £1.69. THG goes down to 70p. bob loses > £60,000. Says it's not a loss until you crystalise XD

Billionarebob gets mugged. They steal his car, phone, laptop (but don't want his identity). Says he didn't get mugged unless he reports it to the police.
