The other problem here is that PE have so many choices right now that they won't pay much. I agree boix - 200p max. And I'd take it because for few investors here it will at least reduce their loses. Otherwise it's a long road to get back up, if this ever does. Metro Bank has been down for years now, it's still losing money and there's no end in sight.

The Department of Justice is reportedly exploring if they can charge stock market short-sellers with the same law used to take down the mafia

US DOJ want to use the same law as the one used against the MAFIA!!!! Shows how despicable these people are.lowest of the low.

Boix, selling this to PE will be a hit to shareholders. SoftBank wants them to carve out ingenuity so they must split the business. When they do that, who would invest in an IPO right now? Nobody. So they are shafted. If they don't split, they might be breaking the terms of the SoftBank's deal.

PE is I guess a way out of this but it's like saying "No, don't cut off my right hand, cut off my left hand and right leg."

There is also no bid for companies that are not indexed. Instead they should aim to fix this, then bid will come and price will start going up.

At the moment, this is so uncertain that holding it is like buying a house in Ukraine betting that in 5 years you'll be able to sell it at a higher value.

Boix analysts at banks are about as accurate as tossing a coin. Especially after the cull of 2015. Their price targets mean sh*t. Really, it's like taking sanks 5.17 as a legitimate price target.

bldm - They would likely use a premium vs 3 or 6 month average price given volatility
But still unlikely to be much over 200p but lowest analysts Price Target here is 217p with a sell rating?
Actually if MM is right about the level of naked shorts a higher price will likely be achieved by selling in the markets.

Boix what do you think a PE would pay for this company? Current price is 90p. Let's say that they pay 100% premium. That's 180p. And MM will take it! SoftBank payed 40% premium for ARM and this is one of the best UK companies.

I can give you deals where the buyer payed 100% premium but the reason was because it was such a good deal that (1) the board will accept it and (2) there won't be a bidding war. It's like if the neighbours house is on the market for 800,000 and you offer £1.6 mill. because you definitely want to get the house. Mind you, the offers with high premium were for quality companies with very good margins and IP (engineering companies).
