Well Mike Ashley lost a shed load on DEBENHAMS and he got it wrong.

As for BOOTS I think you may be right sometimes private equity sucks the blood out of the company and then lists like as you said happened to DEBENHMAS sellling all the freeholds. But Ashley still got it wrong.

I also callled MARKS down and then up again and now its full value or could fall further.

Have had a brief look at accounts and have to say there are too many exceptional itmes for my liking HUT group grown to quickly and that could create a problem in todays economic envireoment which has had money thrown at it from GOV. But things are now changing and that will create a problem.

HUT isnt for widows and orphans imo and is a day traders share with risk.

But as you say I am not mystic meg but neither do I believe in crystal balls !

hamham,

I called DEBENHAMS bust a year or so before they went bust so have a good handle on retail.

You are correct rises as you say will effect high street more than online. But most high street retailers are making 5% net profits before tax so they do have a buffer at the moment while HUT isnt making any meanigful profits which is a concern.

Even MARKS management have already warned of the impact on consumer spend as inflation hits consumer pockets but we now have interest rates rises as well and this may happen in Europe as well.

I have to confess however I haven't looked into HUT's accounts as have other things to do and it may be the case private equity is sniffing around we have seen it with ASDA partly funded with private equity and MORRISONS.

The founder has already said he regrets the listing as well.

I think there needs to be a RNS to either confirm or deny the rumours due to the share price moving over 20% at one point or was it nearer 30%?

I have no position here just interested in the story, neither a buyer nor a short seller.
