I'm expecting this to happen asapTHG shares soar on private equity rumoursBy our Markets reporter | February 4, 20225pm: Closing reportShares in THG, formerly the Hut Group, rose strongly following a report that private equity firms Advent International, Leonard Green Partners and Apollo were circling the e-commerce company in which Sir Tom Hunter is a shareholder.According to markets blog Betaville, Advent is working with advisers from Goldman Sachs on its interest in THG alongside the company's founder, Matt Moulding.There has been speculation about a takeover of THG since last year when founder Moulding suggested in an interview with GQ Magazine that he might be interested in quitting the stock market following the company's float.Shares in the group have tumbled more than 80% since it listed in London in 2020, with Moulding pinning the blame on short-sellers.Following today's report THG shares were up 21.5p (18.5%) .

I was sooo lucky here.I really thought when I bought these shares at 180 and the results looked prima facae to be tremendousy strong.I thought these were heading for 300 I bought more at 210 and 230.

For some reason I decided this shorting could really decimate the share price abd exited at a small loss at 215. I recall someone I think sanks stating this will drop and could even fall to 167? I thought that was ridiculous but sat on the sidelines and watched.The share price continued to drop.I thought hmmm maybe I should buy back at 126 Didn't as something didn't smell right.

This afternoon I saw the rumour of a significant bet and tried to buy back.Had to pay 135 but next week I feel this is now game on. Holding and waiting and I can see this rising fast next week back into the 200s as we await some tangible news

I was expecting this to close above £2.50 to target that gap at £5.17
Buyers now piling in..shorts gonna be getting a good shagging, which will skirtlift this even quicker!!!

Level 4 initial target remains £5.17 with an eventual target of £10.57

The UT is literally the equilibrium price of willing buyers and sellers..so both. The buys /sells on advfn are just guesses around the spread, in an order driven market where participants can input buys and sells on the screen ..what's a buy what's a sell. The business this afternoon was obviously buyer led as the bids kept building someone suddenly very keen to buy size it seems.

I would a beaten up stocks getting a 50% recovery from highs is a good target.
Depends why it was beaten up as to how much higher it can go above the 50%!

My rule of thumb for a bombed out share that gets t/o interest is that the price ends up around the midpoint between low and pre-crash. That would give us about 400pps.

Will be interesting to see next week this a price dropped like a stone on sentiment, not quarterly updates (they were very good). So no reason why can't rise like a stone(?) as well.

Oh Happy Day - THG UP 20%, 'take over' rumour mill has started, shorts will be closing, price hike Monday as media spread the seed and then price hikes all the way up to the next RNS.

Think I might have a couple of tinnies tonight - well done to everyone who held on :)

BLDM has been wiped out.. his bird rang me last night at 1135pm.. she said he's been shagged and if I could help him..I declined.

Buy out target remains at £5.17 with a possible gap fill at £10.57
