06/2/2022 08:06 | I doubt there will be an RNS in the morning although do expect the share price to move up on speculation. FWIW, the men in suits know more about what's going on than we do and shares don't tumble 80% without good reason. GLA | ![]() flc
06/2/2022 08:02 | If this does go private then relist in the US, the ST and other media should hold their heads in shame. The way THG were treated will just mean no new growth orientated tech companies will bother with the UK for future listings. A damn shame! Hope the media happy. But MM, if you watching here, please get me 600p when you shut the door :) | ![]() hamhamham1

06/2/2022 06:23 | According to the paper, someone close to Moulding said private equity firms had approached THG (not other way round). The paper mentions 'City sources' said if PE bought THG, they may want to relist on US markets and get a lot more return for their investment (Where this type of growth company is more appreciated). Leoneobull, you may get your starter price Monday, with the unjustified rollercoaster ride down, then we could quite easily have the same white knuckle ride back up? Hold tight! Personally, I am holding until the end game. Bun fight to jump back on board Monday at 8am??? | ![]() hamhamham1

06/2/2022 06:12 | "Private equity firms Advent International and Leonard Green are exploring a buyout of the beleaguered online retailer The Hut Group.Executives from Advent are said to have recently visited THG's offices in Manchester, and Los Angeles-based Leonard Green is also understood to be running the rule over the company.Shares in THG, led by co-founder Matt Moulding, jumped 16 per cent on Friday after news of the private equity interest surfaced in a speculative blog post on the Betaville website. Sources close to THG said Apollo, another firm linked with a deal, was a less likely buyer. Apollo is already one of THG's debtholders, sources said.THG's shares have slumped 82 per cent over the past year amid growing concerns over its corporate governance, cashflows and the value of Ingenuity, the tech platform licensed by THG to other online retailers. In an interview with GQ magazine last November, Moulding said his experience on the public markets had "just sucked from start to finish". The chief executive added that he had "other options" because more than half of THG's shares were owned by himself and his early backers.A source close to Moulding said private equity firms had approached THG, rather than the other way around.City sources said if private equity were to buy THG, they may seek to re-list it in the US, where investors are readier to tolerate minimal profits from fast-growing businesses." | ![]() leoneobull

06/2/2022 00:33 | I don’t think many are short? - that’s the odd thing with this mess. But I will hold. Good luck but nothing is certain - its still a punt. But I am pleased we get a few more days to plan the path. Best to all. | ![]() boix

05/2/2022 21:34 | Pre -Yes you could but I have not read anything so outlandish as you mentioned here on this BB. Good luck to you. It would be nice to make something back on this share so will hope for RNS and monitor opening auction. | ![]() boix
05/2/2022 19:14 | Even if the rumours are correct, longterm PIs have been well and truly kippered so not quite sure why there's such investor excitement at the prospect! | ![]() one_frankel
05/2/2022 18:33 | Lol you could say the same about this thread too could you not? Signing off and good luck longs-:) | ![]() pre
05/2/2022 18:16 | They can’t do that. There are rules attached to an London Stock Exchange listing. Confirm or say nothing ie effectively dismiss reports. You can’t say nothing then pull a rabbit out of the hat. Pre - there is lots of BULL invented and posted on the LonSE(& other PI) BBs so be careful. But I are sure we both hope for a positive RNS on Monday. | ![]() boix
05/2/2022 18:13 | Some figures on stock in loan were muted on lse share chat thread during the week and can be viewed on euro clear for those who have access I believe. Enjoy rest of weekend longs:-) | ![]() pre

05/2/2022 18:07 | Pre - Who is short? Nothing declared anywhere at the moment? Virtually all previously declared shorts already closed. Only 0.6% of shares out on loan and short????? | ![]() boix
05/2/2022 18:04 | Or say nothing and let the shorts close fast and then bang announce an approach… a shorters worst nightmare, I’m anticipating the latter:-) | ![]() pre
05/2/2022 17:45 | There's few Minjsniffers on here with multiple aliases, posting Minjsniffing negativity because it hurts knowing its now time for the WHOOOOOOSH to £5.17 Price has dropped far too much.. that's why the vultures are out to buy the whole business. My bird has told them last night, it's £5.17 or no deal. Hope this is helping Sanks..OBE MBE BA HONS PHD LLB SHAG | ![]() sanks
05/2/2022 17:14 | Where are the shorts? There is only one short position above 0.5% - reported at 0.6%. Even the larger PI spreadbetting companies are reporting 100-97% long. It’s possible there might be some short CFD’s but there can’t be many? The only large reported sellers have been distressed company employees, distressed PIs and several large institutional investors(some the original IPO backers) Look it up for yourself Are there any THG options traded anywhere? In fact the reported level of shorting against THG seems incredibly low - at the moment anyway! The only surprising thing I found when researching THG was that it was already 17% owned by Private Equity - The second largest block behind Institutional investors. Given the decline in the value of their existing share holdings do you think they might be checking things out? - Just a thought. But I am a long investor as I believe in the company’s long term future but I don’t believe in Friday’s game playing. More importantly who was behind Friday’s game playing? Was it some people making money from a ‘pump & dump’ scheme or a few shorters looking to buy back in after having closed last year? - Hoping to opening new shorts at a higher price? It’s a mystery for now. More fun and games to come if we don’t get an RNS at before the open on Monday. | ![]() boix |
