Thanks harry_david, I agree with you on all the points and do like this company as an operation but until the economic effect cycles around to small company shares the only thing I can see lifting the price materially is a takeover; volume has also dropped off. It's common at the moment for many UK shares not just Small Caps, but I am hoping to be proved wrong.

At one point a couple of years ago I was quite keen on WRKS. A small uplift in sales goes straight through to the bottom line.
However, the stores I've seen are neat and well-stocked. It is hard to see any room for significant improvement. The markets they serve, books, craft, stationary, and toys are low-value items where supermarkets can easily compete at peak times of the year like "back to school" Halloween, and Christmas.
A takeover by Ryman is possible but not grounds to invest.
