Casual, 1399Peter,
Surely the warrants were not picked up because the share price was well below the exercise price ?.
Who, exactly, is going to " asset strip " and, what assets of value can be stripped, apart from the proven reserves ?.

I have just looked at Nostrum and compared it with Tethys potential major investors and here it is:

Warrants are like toilet paper in Tethys. Pope/Wells have loads of warrants, not to forget a huge convertible loan at a peanuts conversion price.

But then, do we have a choice, as PI's, in this continuing KZ maze of political and business intrigue !.
In this case, however, these new " investors ", with a potential 20% holding, could call the shots, instead of being yet "another bunch of gatekeepers" !.
Who knows ?.

As i have said before, if you were cynically minded you could suspect that the new "investors" are just another bunch of gate-keepers who need their palms crossed with silver in order to allow "smooth passage". I would of course never think such a thing.

Let me add that these new investors are getting a 20% shareholding in Tethys for
$2.5m when the current market value of Tethys is about $5m !.
They could become the controlling shareholder if the TSXV approves and, following the AGM, if a majority vote approves the proposal.
We can only hope that these guys add value and that they plan to make a profit from their investment.

Who are these people who like to invest $2.5m ?. They are obviously locals, who obviously know more about what's going on, compared to us and more than the people who have been running Tethys for 2 years.
They might see some value in Tethys licences for oil and gas that have been extended
as per the latest press release.
Perhaps they have also seen the accounts, done due diligence and, checked the viability of extracting oil and gas at competitive prices.
I am hoping that they are more reliable and capable than the Kumars !. We can only hope !.

Who is Abay Amirkhanov ?.
My guess is that he is a mystery front man, who is hopefully credible and trusted in order to meet the TSXV rules !.

Let us see what unfolds during the next few weeks when the accounts are due and
when these new guys have to cough up the $2.5m

Abay Amirkhanov as far as I can tell is an assistant to the directors of a medical products company, previous job was boss of a mini-football club.....not sure what he brings to the board of an oil and gas company?
Wells needs to explain what he is doing; with this dilution and the previous failures to abide by the stockmarket rules re. disclosure it is very difficult to know if he has a viable plan or is barking mad.

Also, it is difficult to believe that they can be subscribing for shares without having seen the 2017 accounts, or the Q1 2018 accounts, or having an idea of current production and pricing, and while the shares are suspended. So this would appear to be a clear case of insider trading.

Your rationale could be right as PAM seems to have blinked by failing to follow through with more funds.
The new investors seem to know and perhaps have the clout to get the Tethys wagon back on the KZ business track.
Why would they fork out even $2.5m at this stage unless they have plans to get Tethys back on track ?.
They seem to be willing to go to places where PAM is scared to go !.

TI,
On a positive note, at least Jaka and Gemini have agreed to pay 2 US cents when the current share price is 1 cent.
Whether the new investors are planning to start a new drilling program and get the business back on its feet is yet to be seen.
This could also explain why Sjoberg is the new interim CEO and Barrows departed as Tethys is in flux with quite a few loose ends to be fixed,IMO.
It is quite possible that there is still a bit of life left in the old dog following the big dilution that leaves
all of us incl Pope and Olisol with a few crumbs.

At first sight PAM would appear to have truly stiffed themselves. They paid plenty for their stake. Why would they not put in a little more money at this stage? There must be more to the new investors than the chicken-feed funds they bring; if not Wells has totally given up.....

Having reviewed the Tethys press release, dated 18 July again, my understanding is as follows;

Jaka Partners FZC and Gemini IT Consultants DMCC will acquire the following Tethys shares if all goes to plan as stated in the PR.

First Course acquisition = 63.5 million @ US$ 0.01918 per share
Second Course-Warrants exercise in 1 month = 63.5 million @ US$ 0.02152 per share

I thought they gained some street cred when they won in the KZ Supreme Court, but then Ken May departed. This was followed by Sam Barrows, ex Max Petroleum and now
Sjoberg, the Restructure whizz kid from Plena !.
Let's see what happens next !.

The problem with Olisol is that they paid $6.3m for 63m TPL shares and $5.8m in working capital whilst these new guys come in at peanuts for 63m shares plus warrants !.
I cannot see Olisol taking such a big dilution hit without a fight !.
