Is this gonna go on forever as the share price drops.Bought the dips then it dips more.No rns on bids but at least the big players are loading up so that bodes well.I've set my limit order at 1.85Good luck all.

All of those represent "platforms" to enable international expansion. There are benefits to both sides. For the acquired there are synergies from shared design, marketing and administration processes. For the acquirer there is first and foremost a brand of genuine heritage, look and identity to simply add alongside others as a route to growth.

This rns seems to be the announcement that they are moving from phase 1 to phase 2 of the process that was outlined.

They have not accompanied it with price info. As to whether this price info has or will leak, i don't know.

They company could only make this progression if tosca et al were hapoy with the mooted non binding offer prices. This makes me suspect they are above 150.

There is also the possibility that people are participating just to get information off ted but in this sector i don't think that seems very likely.

The Company has now received a number of non-binding proposals from potentially interested parties. The Board is inviting a focused selection of such parties to enter into a due diligence process under which the Company will provide information on its business to them pursuant to the terms of a non-disclosure agreement.

It's basically a closed auction with Evercore and Blackdown running it and telling the second highest bidder what the highest has offered and asking if they want to cap it.

At the end of the day it comes down to how bidders value the brand - the rest of the business has no intrinsic value and can be absorbed into the buyers infrastructure.

With the number of ideal interested parties involved, it seems there is a fair chance the best final bid comes in well above 150, and more like 175 or 200.

There were some nice positive comments in the Sky news article about how Ted Baker occupies a prominent place in British retailing, has a good store footprint etc., which did make me reflect what an ideal proposal this is for an investor. The brand simply does have authenticity, and survey results confirm appreciation of that. They are at a great price point where there is potentially a combination of volume of sales and profit margins to be had, if they get their designs right.

Seems the market thinks a bid will come it around say 160p and then be rejected. I think this is too pessimistic.

I also think the current management are quite suitable to deliver sustainable growth over the coming 5 years so would not be too disappointed if all bids failed.
