Holding this 2 weeks ago just for the prospect of a bid increase never really made that much sense. The acquisition overall was as likely to happen as not, and a likely circa 20% gain/loss if it did/didn't. Then as now you have to believe in a five year growth story, involving new systems, international footprint and good designs, to hold.

I was ambivalent about the possible bid. My average price is around 200p and feel they can do better than the mooted 170 - 190p buyout price on a 3 year time scale

I closed out a couple of weeks ago as I could see this playing out like this.

Uncertainty everywhere so no one wants to go balls deep, even if it’s a good company.

Too many slick operators around
There is profit to be made by buying a bunch of shares, pretending to make a bid, dumping, then walking away.

Ted is becoming an interesting prospect again.

Dealy looks like they chose what would be a good fit for the company and possible price but were wrong. Right now purchasers want everything for nothing. We are best going it alone it's a great brand great quality in the right space going the right way, just my thoughts

The extent of todays sell off is ridiculous. Firstly we have a company that is fully financed (net cash) and is performing well. The market cap is below 200m gbp. There are several other bidders in the mix. Others may join. I would have expected 120p to be the low today

of course someone knew this yesterday, hence the shares falling despite a strong day.we really are witnessing the death of animal spirits when it is so hard for companies or funds to pull the trigger on a small acquisition

The Board was informed by the preferred counterparty last night that it did not intend to proceed with an offer for the Company. The counterparty indicated that its reason for not proceeding was not linked to its due diligence review of the Company.
