Interesting to see mega Games company Epic Games ($17.3billion) raising antitrust complaints against Apple across multiple markets/continents. They argue that Apple (and also Valve/Steam, Google Play etc) are taking an unreasonable and anti-competitive 30% of game revenue just for providing a games platform.

Epic has previously argued that 8% would be a fairer cut of the revenue considering where all the development costs have been carried. Should Epic win any of these cases then there could be a knock-on effect to other platforms and Team17, Frontier Developments and other software developers could see an immediate improvement to their bottom line.

Finally perked up and went above the right shoulder of an H&S today.

Hopefully bodes well for more upside albeit all games stocks seen a recent sell-off but ATVI gapped-up on Friday.

I normally plunge in here regardless, but have been a bit cautious this time, as can't decide if the chart turns today or tomorrow!

There is a possibility of a chart pattern that targets approx 750, but this needed eod close below 808 to confirm.

Thanks for your thoughts as always Ken. TM17 normally receives very positive market reaction to its trading updates, today was the exception. Anyway am a long term holder so will ride the waves.

Boozey, I don't believe that Team17 are planning to raise cash as they have plenty. Today's Shares magazine: "Shore Capital estimates Team17 ended the period with net cash of £58 million, leaving them with firepower for further acquisitions."
I'm relaxed about short-term share price fluctuations as all the building blocks are in place for a steady climb in the coming years. Hell Let Loose is a big 100-player WW2 first-person shooter game with great reviews that will be officially launched soon and more news releases are in the pipeline. Blasphemous 2 or Overcooked 3 would be nice.

So we have SUMO and TM17 announcing on the same day and both were strong but received in different way by the market. The TM17 share price has drifted a little recently and I and wondering if they may be looking to raise cash for further acquisitions. This did not happen last year - whilst SUMO did raise cash for the Pipeworks acquisition and the share price took off as a result of that. We will see. I hold both.

All games stocks I own have sold off recently (GAW FDEV TM17) except Tencent (0700.HK).
Over-bought and/or consolidation in my view. No change in outlook.

Berenberg were the exception as they said buy and set a target of 800 in Sept so 850 is an upgrade.

Ken, I have seen delayed reactions before...earlier in year MKS was flat on results day and 3 days later went vertical 20%.
I have been thinking £10 is quite possible based on the trend, maybe it will just be a slow climb.
I hadn't seen Jefferies recommendation... but I remember JP morgan said Ocado £10 before it went to £29.

Gio, price is moving up now. Last Summer I said £10 within 2 years and I'm confident we'll get there. Brokers might sit up and take notice now but most have egg on their faces and are due an embarassing turnaround. Jefferies said Underperform and target 668p just 2 days ago, Cannacord Sell, Shore Capital Sell etc. They got this badly wrong but should rerate after these results.

I posted this 6 months back but for those that missed it, here is the background on GWYF and how Debbie treats prospective partners: "We had a few offers from big companies, but Debbie was completely different. She contacted me on LinkedIn with just a friendly message, and we started talking from there.

"It was night and day compared with other companies... The other companies just wanted to help themselves, it felt like, whereas she wanted to help us. The deal felt very friendly and it has been an enjoyable adventure so far. I am glad we waited, but she did come at the right time. I have already told her this, but she's like the angel who scooped us up and helped us complete what we started.

"She took the time to talk to us, and she's the boss... She didn't get someone else to do it, she did it herself. That meant a hell of a lot."

A really strong Trading Update! Delivering 12 games in 2020 despite logistical challenges was a great achievement and buying Golf With Your Friends (90% positive from the 26,000 Steam reviews) for £12m looks astute. It has 5.5m players already and the acquisition will most likely result in it going to cross-platform to boost numbers further.
I can't believe Broker's Jefferies have said Sell twice recently - clueless!
