Not been watching the news called a war, perhaps they should send a battalion of worms to help the Ukrainians

Please keep a weather eye open for me/us, W13Ken 😊

Company cultures are hard to turn around - change has to be evolutionary, revolutionary rarely works. Still the article may have been a good catalyst.

I am more concerned with the software and phone acquisitions at the moment.

Good to see that management have accepted most findings from the Eurogamer whistleblower article and say they will take steps to address them.

Hi All, personally, we haven’t seen Debbie fail yet, so I’m not selling until there’s bad financial news.

I agree about The Label - profitability is less in mobile and easier for big, general companies to dominate.

Astragon, I don't know about, but buying software companies is fraught with difficulties and I suspect TM17 don't have relevant expertise to reduce the risk.

Thank you for the link W13Ken.

Prima Facie it would seem that they don't have the ability to cope with their own over ambitious actions.

Networker, I think StoryToys and the IP for Hell Let Loose were positive buys but buying mobile games specialist The Label seems questionable and 75m Euros (maybe rising to 100m) for Astragon's 'working' simulation software seems extremely high. It sounds like they are expanding too fast and trying to cover all genres with not enough staff,
You should read this explosive article. Team17 may dispute some of its information but it paints a very bad picture. I have no real insight on the other shares you mentioned.

You've certainly changed tack on TM17, which I have always regarded as the pick of the bunch given their management experience, reputation, product diversity and non-reliance on a specific game that might go out of fashion. Are you equally bearish on their recent material acquisition? Do you now regard DEVO, TBLD and GAW as companies worth investing in at their recently reduced share prices and if so, why?

Hi All, Team17 has been the oldest shareholding in my portfolio and I've been a big supporter of them on this forum (there's no company I've researched more) and done well with them over the last 2 years. So, it was with some sadness that I decided to sell my remaining Team17 shares yesterday morning. I've made the mistake of holding on to other shares for too long and probably my best financial decision last year was to sell Frontier Developments at 2800+ (now 1320) following the disastrously-received release of Elite Dangerous Odyssey. I don't see Team17 crashing in the same way but, like with FDEV, red flags made me feel like this was the right time to go. Two main reasons: 1. The ill-fated move to release Worms NFTs - yes the decision was correctly reversed after blisteringly bad feedback from gamers and, importantly, some key devs that that Team17 publish like Ghost Town Games (Overcooked) and Aggro Crab (Going Under) - but the damage was done and it showed management were not consulting with staff and partners in advance of the decision. 2. The subsequent staff feedback on unreasonable workloads, poor pay and management that ignore complaints. See Glassdoor or numerous articles for more on this.
I'm not going to be one of those people that regularly comes on a forum after selling to say bad things but felt that, having been positive in the past, I should share my reasons for exiting. I like the company and hope that they can address these issues and turn things around. Good luck to you with your investments.

Acquisition announcement looks to be a fine commercial expansion of the company's activities. Less fine is the apparent insider selling pressure today prior to the public announcement of the Placing made after market hours. It is unlikely just to be coincidence, so I hope it will be suitably investigated.

Yes APAD, well remembered that I raved about how good Hell Let Loose looked a long time ago. 88% positive ratings on Steam in the last 30 days and 86% on nearly 40,000 reviews in total.

Other ratings are PC 79%,PS5 73% and XSX 84% which shows that a rollout to new consoles has been successful where others have struggled and the game is still being developed and improved with new maps on the way.

There's also a big fan community out there with some positive/tactical Youtube videos getting 100,000 views in a fortnight.

Excellent update, superb team at T17 with a very clued up CEO.

£2.2 million bought earlier in three chunky buys. This is going to fly to 900p in a very short space of time
