23/12/2020 14:37 | Hi Bamboo, good luck with that. Merry Christmas to you and all of the Team17 forum regulars! Stay safe and all the best for your health and prosperity in 2021! Ken | w13ken
23/12/2020 12:06 | Bought 2x500 at 759.8 Possible apex based turn today. | bamboo2
20/12/2020 23:49 | Hi Bamboo thanks - I always read your insights with interest. I think TM17 and SUMO have equal appeal which is why I hold both but the 10% Tencent holding in SUMO adds extra appeal. | boozey
20/12/2020 10:13 | Boozey, I did look, but was not sure what to make of it. It looks very positive. I am, however, wary when there is too much space between price and the 50sma. There's even more space now then when I first looked! | bamboo2
19/12/2020 20:04 | I know wrong board but very interested in SUMO! After big ride though, is it overbought?! | johndoe23
19/12/2020 19:55 | Hey Bamboo did you have an opportunity to look at the Sumo chart yet please? :) | boozey
19/12/2020 19:48 | Yes, SUMO rocketed on the back of CDM increased offer, but no move here... | johndoe23
19/12/2020 16:10 | H&S reversal here should take price back to 50sma Waiting to go long. imo | bamboo2
15/12/2020 22:24 | Ken.... or Sumo too ;) | boozey
14/12/2020 19:49 | "I expect more mergers and acquisitions to come in future. And so what happened to the Codemasters share price could happen again to one of its AIM-listed stablemates, Frontier Developments or Team17." | w13ken
13/12/2020 23:41 | In Monday's Daily Telegraph: "Electronic Arts to gatecrash Codemasters takeover The London-listed [company] has sparked a counter bid after Take-Two's £725m approach" CDM up 19% this morning so could be an interesting period for Games companies valuations if cash-rich Games giants are on a buying spree... | w13ken
11/12/2020 13:26 | From Bamboo "Re TM17, I sold my last trade too soon, and have been waiting patiently to buy some back. I have noted there is a potential turn showing for next week, Tuesday 15/12/2020." Worth thinking about. apad | apad
11/12/2020 12:25 | Excellent, W13Ken. I could do with another buying opportunity. My thanks for your contributions too. apad | apad
11/12/2020 12:16 | JEFFERIES CUTS TEAM17 TO 'UNDERPERFORM' ('HOLD') - TARGET 668 PENCE Pah! What do they know?! :-( | w13ken
10/12/2020 20:46 | and finally for now things are turning round on The Survivalists. This was Team17's first in-house game for ages but sad to say - as a big Team17 fan - the initial reaction was disappointing as gamers complained about a lack of content, some bugginess and the game being overpriced. But Team17 have listened, engaged with their critics and have worked hard to create additional content, fixed bugs and regularly reduce the price (this may also have contributed to the low Worms Rumble price). This comes back to looking after franchises and taking long-term views on games. Initial Steam reviews were Mixed and just over 50% positive but that has climbed to 84% in the last 30 days and 64% overall as better reviews swing that negative start around and maybe even those that didnt initially recommend it, switch their ratings. A company that won't always get it right first time - you can't please all of the gamers all of the time - but they have a love for gaming and a brilliant CEO that means they will always get it right in the end so I'll be a long-term holder for years. | w13ken
10/12/2020 20:35 | Great contributions thank you Ken | hydrus
10/12/2020 20:30 | They also recently launched a fully upgraded version of one of the most popular games, Overcooked, for the new PS and XBox consoles. Pokemon-like Monster Sanctuary (94% positive on Steam) was released just this week and had an incredibly rare 10/10 review from thedigitalfix: Meanwhile Early Access World War 2 battle game Hell Let Loose (19k reviews, Very Positive) continues to develop and win fans while Golf With Your Friends (97% Positive in the last 30 days) has sold strongly this year... | w13ken
10/12/2020 19:40 | Great to see TM17 above 800p recently so what have they got right in the last few weeks that supports this optimism? First off, Worms Rumble was released on Dec 1st and despite a lot of initial negative feedback when the real-time 32-player cross-platform combat format was announced, it has been a huge success with 1.5 million unique players in its first week. This was no doubt helped by including it as a freebie on Playstation Plus in December but Steam's reviews are Very Positive and it should move on from the PS console exclusivity pretty soon. It's great to see that new maps and features are already coming out on 17th Dec. It was a bold move to try and experiment with the beloved turn-based game but most critics are eating their words. Team17 really knows how to nuture and grow a game franchise and Worms Rumble is keenly priced at £10.99 on Steam so numbers should continue to grow... | w13ken
25/11/2020 11:48 | Upside valuation for TM17? My stabs-in-the-dark (skill vs luck!): FY19 diluted EPS about 13p after 111% growth. HY20 diluted EPS about 9p FY20 EPS at 18p (growth 38%) paying 40x (PEG=1) > share price of 720p But market now expecting more, apparently. If we get some operational gearing maybe we get EPS growth of 75% at a guess giving 22.7p. At 40x > share price of 910p. Looks difficult to guess/rationalise this one imv. Anyway, break-out in place with short term technical upside to 842p. | sogoesit
23/11/2020 21:20 | Hi all, My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast a few days ago and part of our discussion includes TM17 which I hold myself. We also chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and did a particular bit about Luck vs Skill. We also discussed the outlook for Markets and as usual a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing. Anyway, if you use Apple, Audioboom, Overcast or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 36) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below. It is also now on Youtube. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, Cheers, WD @wheeliedealer | thewheeliedealer
22/11/2020 23:58 | Bamboo, thanks for the pointer to the Apex pattern and other tips. I know what you mean about getting bored - it's a bit like in a traffic jam where you branch off to an alternative route that may not get you there quicker but at least you've tried to beat the system and kept yourself interested. I will be looking at Bellway (BWY), Draper Esprit (GROW) and Gym Group (GYM) for potential trading. Incidentally although I am a big fan of Team17, I prefer the lineup of releases that Frontier Developments (FDEV) has for the next 2 years and think they have dropped to a good price near 2400 since the vaccine news came out. These 2 gaming companies are my main 2 holdings. | w13ken
22/11/2020 12:42 | Bamboo - thanks :) | boozey
22/11/2020 11:55 | Boozey and amose, RE Sumo, will add it to the list, although might not get done for a few days. | bamboo2
21/11/2020 18:29 | Hi Bamboo, I also would be interested in your view on Sumo. I own both TM17 and CDM, and am happy to hold onto TM17. But for CDM, due to the offer from take two, I am considering selling and replace by Sumo, as I am over-invested in TM17. | smose |
