I'm used to seeing the share price drop at this time of year, but it's usually on low volume, the current volume indicates the drop is far more serious than in previous years imo!

Hey Dave,
You weren’t joking when you mentioned Trumpitise, he’s picking on the Mexicans now LOL! I think the FTSE held up nicely actually IMO and I think people are starting to realise he’s making himself look rather foolish, I did like Trump but I personally think he’s acting rather aggressive for some reason or other? I have no idea why? LOL!

Hahaha Dave!,

Rio has got serious legs, unfortunately today the wrong way, but I picked a few more up, got into TW. But not picked up many, I might listen to some of you more experienced traders in TW. And see what XD brings the share price

I’ve just bought 5047 to add to my core ISA 10,000. I will take special dividend and whilst the price will undoubtedly drop lower on ex divi day my hope and expectation is that I will be able to sell this trading pot at mid 170’s by autumn meaning circa extra £1,000 profit within 3-5 months. Time will tell.

Hi Dave,
Was going to buy today, but couldn’t resist adding to Rio, think I might see what next week brings and pick these up on XD, cracking fundamentals this stock has and I will certainly be an holder shortly.

Turvart.
Well hopefully it is impervious to Trumpitis, a nasty infection that spreads around the world. ;-)
Brexit does seem to have tempered housing sector but last months mortgage approvals were at a high, though IIRC commentator reckoned that wouldn't be ongoing.
They can't know that, so personally hoping for more to come.

Hi Dave,
Yeah ok, I’ll take on board your opinion, but being the fundamentalist I am, this stock is very appealing to me, yes I admit I have no experience with TW. But I have 17 years of being a trader, taking into account this is not an aim stock, then I will say my trading strategy is at a level I’m comfortable with, but thanks for the advice I will take it on board.

Turvart,
We all have our own dealing strategy, but reading your post, you talk of investing and fundamentals, both indicative of a longer term strategy, but micro manage short term share price anticipation, and many trade around ex-div dates and days of reports etc, so short term trading, more down to psychology than fundamentals, so your post sounds like conflicting objectives.
(I confess I am mainly long but do short term on occasion).

Im buying into this tomorrow, it’s a stock I’ve never ever in my trading career ever been interested in, don’t ask me why because I can’t answer, but I came across it yesterday and since then I’ve studied the fundamentals, this stock in my opinion is a gem with the fundamentals it holds and they really float my boat how they operate the dividends from an investment point of view, I’ve read the last 150 posts in this thread, I’d like to invest tomorrow but I’m getting the impression it loses more than the divi on XD? I think I will invest tomorrow and take the chance and then top up if it does retrace to the 155 or below levels. So let’s say I pick this up for 170 tomorrow ( If I’m lucky ) then I predict with the fundamentals this holds it may get to 174 - 177 area the day before XD, so let’s say I buy at 170 and it gets to 174, then 174 - 10.7 = 163.3 then take 4 off that will take it to 159.3 break even for me on XD, that then if they keep the dividend up like the last four years puts me on approx a 10% yield at current EPS. bargain! I’m buying tomorrow with the view of going into this in 4 tranches after XD.

I can’t believe how many good stocks are about in the FTSE 100 at the moment and I can see why the FTSE is being held back with all this Brexit uncertainty and the US/China trade war etc etc, but I think with fundamentals getting so strong with so many companies that sooner rather than later the FTSE must push 8000.

I thought we may see 175p by ex divi day Stewart, but the way it's going 170p seems to be the selling price.

gbh2 it's gone into the June special at a couple of quid in 16,17 and 18, we are at a much lower level now. But yep it rarely runs differently to form, thrice bitten....

Doing ok thank you, as I hope you and others are with TW.

fwiw I think investment mythology is often age related, in my case I've no need to save for the future because I'm living it and as I enjoy the risk reward feature of trading that's my thing.

That said I do have a ring fenced holding in one company that's for my grandchildren's future :))

I am also hoping for a rise into the special - but I may well sell ahead of it and buy back later, a strategy that would have worked out very well last for those who followed it last year (not me however). I need 183 for evens, don't see it coming by next week.

The question is what will the share price look like once the special is out of the way, 150 to 140p is on the cards imo.

At least it's falling into the dividend, may not take the dividend times three hit it usually does post the special next week. They think they are hard done to across at VOD and IMB on mega dividend, but here at 11%..18.3/ 166.8
