The only concern that I have and the housebuilders for that matter have is if the Tories were to get in with their ideas for changing the planning system.
If they were to get in then we will likely to get a fall back in the sector.

Smurf,If we do break the 50p we will no doubt see a lot of selling as this was would be the figure that those who held from the previous high will have hoped to return to and get out..imo

I'm hoping for a rush up to 50p like April 2009.

The question is will it break new highs from the previous two peaks?

Great to see this finally moving and in advance of its sector peers,
Jibba I reckon this is down to you cleaning up the thread, sort of a descaling and now we are a lean mean housebuilding machine...lol
Long overdue rise here and maybe that attack on 50p will now eventually come,
Bob agree that this has lagged, but that was because of the us arm holding us back, that negative has turned to a positive finally.
TD see you still posting regular, hows the weather in Florida?

Bobsidian , The housing markets are a whole different ballgame in 2010 . 2009 was many years ago , anyway we will see who collects .

Will have resistance but i wonder how many lost patience and sold out while it was trending in the 30's. Perhaps that was the ploy from the Insts ?

Well it would not exactly be the first time that TW. has rushed up to hit the 50-55p level only to roll over and subsequently grind lower.

That ceiling should it be reached will have strong resistance enshrined within it.

Had the kids' CTFs on sell 44p, can't be bothered to check right now if that was hit, should I look to increase the sell price if not hit yet?

Indeed. Having moved above its 200 day SMA I am watching to see whether or not SDY is able to make a sustained break above the 35p level.

And AHT is already off and running.

I think we can safely say that the US figures did the wonder at 3:00PM...only have to see the chart.

bobsidian,

"....You cannot help but believe that the housebuilders seem to be the very last share category chosen to make any move....."

IMO, rental firms will be next. Keep an eye on SDY once the builders have reached short term fair value. No advice intended.

"This could well be the last opportunity to deal like this with this stock."

There were quite a few who participated in the capital raising exercise approximately one year ago who had high hopes and even higher predictions for the share price of TW.

I suspect that that disappointment may temper their ambition and they may recognise that any share price movement is lagging and may continue to lag the comparative outperformance seen in other sectors.

do we think the reason for the rise is the surge in us home sales or expectation of good interim management statement......!!!

This positive move today is good and I think it will stick - remember that this is not a new high - the entire sector is buoyant and we have the Q1 IMS next Thursday. All that and then maybe some more shorters to close...

...trading on a 20,000 T+20 from sub 39.0p with over two weeks left to run. This could well be the last opportunity to deal like this with this stock.
