23/4/2010 17:42 | "One feature of the rotation is that the market is searching out and buying '...quality...' shares which have been unloved in Q4 09 and/or Q1 10." Indeed. GKN and ECM come to mind. Quietly moving higher. | ![]() bobsidian
23/4/2010 17:39 | Noted bobsidian. One feature of the rotation is that the market is searching out and buying '...quality...' shares which have been unloved in Q4 09 and/or Q1 10. Some have been recovering quietly, some with a thunder clap as news (perceived to be relevant) emerges from the US. Another example being IMG. In the case of TW. it simply required ' evidence ' that the housing market was making a real recovery. That has emerged this week both in the case of existing and now new home sales. No-one could suggest that TW. at 38p was fair value! How far it will / should rise we will learn in the coming weeks. | ![]() leedskier
23/4/2010 17:32 | Leedskier I noted a comment made by a contributor on CNBC that the housebuilding sector has an historic knack of rallying after general elections. In the realms of self fulfilling prophecies that seem to have been playing out in this bull market, perhaps rotation is starting to seize newsflow to seek to fulfil that individual prophecy. | ![]() bobsidian

23/4/2010 17:14 | You have to laugh. It chooses a Friday to make a monster move on dubious newsflow out of the U.S. and whilst the U.S. markets are in reverse. And the volumes are comparatively huge as it makes its biggest one day move in months. A short squeeze perhaps ? Is this the long awaited breakout or yet another false dawn ? Noteworthy that the broader FTSE250 is vying with levels not seen since May 2008. You cannot help but believe that the housebuilders seem to be the very last share category chosen to make any move. | ![]() bobsidian
