24/12/2020 12:32 | between 150 and 350 I believe. I am sure we had some fixed rates but a big issue for anything from the far east. tiger | castleford tiger
24/12/2020 12:24 | Q. Do we know how many bikes you can get in a container. Maybe cost is incidental? Thanks A. I will try to find out but probably depends on how they are shipped and whether complete units or flatpacked for final assembly in UK. | davidosh
24/12/2020 10:30 | Container rates for main routes, i.e. China - Rotterdam, China - LA, are through the roof. This is a combination of PPE shipments, stock piling, canal delays and port delays and consumer goods demand in the US. Transport cost are much higher than usual. This is transient and will unwind as the vaccines roll out. | hpcg

11/12/2020 08:59 | Thanks to a post by Wapper in 2007, I now know that IBD is an acronym for Independent Bicycle Dealer. | shanklin
11/12/2020 08:37 | My orders currently not filled Yes I think we will see more direct sales of their own brands so as to protect the IBD sector. The growth area is expressco division and our new non exc will be looking at marketing improvements and web sites. I will ask Jim some of your questions | castleford tiger
10/12/2020 19:28 | Interesting and some good points. Prepayments often help and TND have the cash to do this. Whilst bikes are a part of the business I think the D2C business is going to be the growth area for a few years. More on line and a vastly improved customer experience including better web sites will help. These are the areas that will see growth after the bike era slows down. 24 m with maybe 8 m in cash means a business making 3/4 m a year is valued at 16m ? Backed by real assets and no debt the shares responded to late buying. My trade still not showing tiger | castleford tiger
10/12/2020 19:05 | The only negative on a booming market in the cycling industry is the ability in 2021 to actually land stock . Leadtimes of Shimano now reportedly over 1 year and SRAM over 6 months , then add a month to build and 2 months to ship its literally 1 year lead-time for deliveries of orders placed . Alloy and steel frame builders are similarly maxed out and the big boys, or the commercially aggressive with big balls that ordered early (April ) will get the priority . Unlikely tandem fall into this category . Its been this way since July , so unless tandem ordered heavily and are near the front of the queue with their suppliers then supply is going to be a major issue . Couple this with the avalanche of supply that will catch up at end 2021 and a potential softening of demand gives the possibility of a period of oversupply and declining margins . The pertinent question to tandem is what is the strength of their order book and what level of stock can they supply next year . Share price if they can get supply is crazily cheap , because bicycle supply is non existent in the next 6 months , after that its going to be interesting | babscabs
