Mug punters never learn. No clue about clinical trials. Risk vs reward is towards risk side.

Personally my choice is no stop loss!I appreciate others have different opinions!MMs are ruthless and those sugar spooned boys look after each other!

Dave, it depends where yo place your stop loss at.

example - 30p for SNG - you could say if the results are bad for Phase II, they could drop below that price - 50% drop - setting it at say 50p is too near the price now

D1NGA is correct. It is a double blind trial so no-one knows who got drug until it is unblinded at the end.

Don't forget the stock market is traditionally set up for the rich and privileged and we are attempting to stomp on their turf!Be cautious!

I don't believe in stop losses as the professionals know them and routinely exploit them!

no one will know who is receiving the drug or placebo , apart from those administering the trial ie the doctors will not klnow the patients will not know , they will know they're taking aprt in a trial but thats all.

I got screwed with HL stop loss recently. Sold a lot lower than I wanted too. I've changed to just watch the market and not just trade on these big spikes which are happening at the moment. It tends to come back most time. I saw it happen twice on same share (nex) where it's 10% down and then back again in first hour or so when it opens. Each person has their own strategy but I won't make this mistake again.

Q/ for you Nobby or anyone else equally knowledgeable -- would the patients taking the SNG001 experimental drug be aware of the fact ? ie have to sign a disclaimer etc ..

This isn't a normal situation and so it wont be like other times and results dependent.
This company is at the forefront of a global pandemic and COULD hold the key to survival or not.
That is what shares are about; they are educated guesses at future scenarios, and this could be the making of Synairgen whilst simultaneously saving some lives.

That is what the market is getting excited about and The Times has brought the company more visibility.
I am disappointed the television....BBC has not been more up to speed with this.

The reverse side of the coin is that the drug might not be all that they hope.

I for one, am hoping it is, on many counts but agree with dave that it doesn't hurt to protect yourself financially and hedge your bets.

So now I’m the proud owner of many many shares in SNG, with HL. I have them spread over three accounts, (fund&share, stocks&ISA, SIPP), I have stop losses set on each - HL don’t allow trailing stops, so it’s just a stop loss for me.

Out of interest what do you set as a stop loss? 5%, 10% or just leave it open and catch it on the day?
